Actually two Glocks

The console of my 2011 Camaro barely has any room. No room for a full sized 1911 and my Sig 229 would fit just enough I could barely close the lid. The glove box is not an option as you practically have to climb into the passenger seat to get in it.

I was looking at the ultra (?) compact Glocks for my GF and decided after years of avoiding them they might be a viable option.

I ended up with a 27 for me and a 26 for her. Both brand new Gen 4's, three mags each, and the different grip adapters. We both opted for one of the beaver tail adapters.

Fired a few mags through each Saturday night and to me, they are going to take some getting used to. My groups were pretty tight, but off center. I benchrested both and they are shooting to the sights so it's me. Her gun stovepiped once and didnt lock back on an empty mag another time. I learned she was limp wristing it and when she firmed that up it ran with no problems. My 27 had no issues other than I need to learn how to shoot it.

I guess my next purchase will be a 357 Sig barrel for the 27 if they make them. I have a **** ton of ammo for one.

I am a died in the wool revolver guy. That said, I have a Glock 27. It has a lot of very nice features. The nicest feature is that it has never malfunctioned. White box, range reloads or whatever, it always fires.

Nahh, they serve the purpose I wanted. I am not a fan of striker fired, plastic guns but there is a time and place for everything. I could have gone with a mini 1911 but would have suffered capacity. As for my GF I looked at 442's, etc. but she had a hard time with them. I think I can train her on this pretty easy...we'll see.

I also resisted Glocks, but now own 2 as well; Models 19 & 23 - Gen 4's. I also purchased the Alpha Wolf barrel for the model 23 in 357 Sig. Being new to strikers, I had the New York 1 trigger spring installed and the 3.5 lb connector. This spring/connector combination increases the trigger pull, but also smooths it out as well and gave me a greater sense of security against an AD/ND. When you compare Glock's weight, size, capacity, reliability and simplicity it is hard to beat them. With that said, I occasionally carry a Glock, but prefer my M&P Compacts that offer the same attributes and offer much better ergo's than the Glocks.

Bought a Glock 27 years ago, love it, shoots well and I’d never part with it!
I like my revolvers too!

I managed to find a blue label police trade get 4 G27. It came with some mods that I liked: an extended mag release, and +2 mag bases. Those +2 bases, while adding a bit of length to the grip affecting concealability a bit. I think they make huge difference in taming the recoil in giving the pinky a place to sit instead of hanging awkwardly. I think it's worth the tradeoff.

When it comes to selling or trading, my J-Frame snubs and G26 are always completely OFF the table, too handy, too ez to ccw, too versatile. Congrats on two great ccw pieces.

P.S. It's only the "dark-side" when you're on the outside looking in. Welcome to the light.

Glock makes the G33 which is a 26/27 sized 357 sig. A factory G33 barrel would be easy to obtain. I had a +1 piece extender on my for the pinky full length control. To me it was a bit or work to hold on to it without the extender. I've always favored the 26 with a +2 extender for BUG when I was policing. 12 rnds +P+ back-up to whatever I was carrying was comforting.

One of my mags has the +2 ext. on it, but he was out of them. I will probably pick one up for the rest of the mags when he gets more in stock.

The round count holes are weird though. Left side on the back of the mag has holes for 5-9 right side is 4-8. But, 4-8 is lower on the back than 5-9. I would think it would be the other way around.

Prevailing Arms in Quincy, Illinois used to have all manner of Glop parts. With a 40 slide you can run 40/357/9 (aftermarket) barrels.

I love my s&w and my Ruger revolver's but I own.

A police trade-in second generation Glock 17 and I love it as well.

Hey if it fits the bill.. why not. Too bad the 229 you already have won't fit. Guess you HAD to buy more guns.

I'm so very tempted by some of the smoking deals on .40 turn-in 229's I see lately. Being a 40 fan is good now!

Yeah I love my 229. It has been a tried and true companion for a LOT of miles. For my money I think the 229 is the ultimate go anywhere do anything gun. Stainless/alloy in a caliber that is proven with a 12 round capacity. It was just too big for the car. Not a lot of places in these cars to stash something, and due to my job ccw is not an option.

One good thing is the Glock will fit in my 229 holsters.

They even call me "the revolver guy" at my LGS!

I still don't own a Glock, but I've never met one that I couldn't shoot. Every time I shoot one, I think, "why don't I have one of these yet?" I think it's because whenever I have a little extra cash, I always seem to find something made of steel that I want just a little bit more.

For me, revolver vs 1911 vs Glock is a matter of personality, that is why own all three.

Congrats on your purchases... and that you realize that 'it's you and not the gun'.

You can easily find a 357 barrel at glockstore.com . You need to go there with blinders on though, or you will spend yer whole paycheck there. They have WAY too many neat things for Glocks.

I've had my G19 since they came out in '89/'90 and also have G26.

My Wife learn to shoot using my G19 and was Balls-On Dead Accurate (a factory technical term) with it... But her Instructor was such a Glock Fan-Boy, that she wouldn't actually buy one for herself.
4 SD pistols later... She carries a Gen4 G26.

Another thing I like about the Glock 27 is it shoots the 40 S&W. It's all the rage now to bash this round. Why I don't know as it's ballistics are excellent. But I am old so what do I know. So let's see now, hard hitting, compact, accurate, reliable, rust resistant and lots of holster choices.

Nothing wrong with Glock! They have been solid performers for many years now and the choice of many a law enforcement department.

The S&W M&P series is rapidly gaining mutual respect. I switched over from a G26 to a 9 mm Shield not long ago and the Bodyguard 380 beats out the LCP by a mile. Steel frame, steel roll pins for frame to chassis retention, second shot capability, stainless steel slide and barrel, real sights that are really adjustable and usable and let not forget that unconditional lifetime warranty.

I wouldn't be happy if my truck Glock got stolen. I'd walk in a big box store and buy another one, make sure it worked and put it back in the truck. Steal one of my 1911s or S&W autos I would be very unhappy. Steal the cheapest, rattiest S&W wheel gun i own and I'll hunt you down.

All of my handguns work. Glocks have no soul and should live in a center console or a door pocket

Don't feel bad. I picked up a new Glock 17 back in May. Only plastic gun I own. I like steel and wood and older firearms.

I agree with everything you say except " make sure it worked ". It is legendary that they work and well right out of the box too! The only Glocks I have seen that didn't work were one that some idiot molested the thing with strange parts! LOL!!!!!

I've fired all sorts of weapons and to me, the Glock is just another tool. It works, they tend to be reliable and accurate. They may not be pretty and to my eyes they are ugly ducklings, but for a handgun, a tool, they will do the job just fine. If a Glock works well in your hands, then don't listen to the "anything but Glock" crowd.

I've owned several Glocks, and while I think they are more "utilitarian" than "ugly" they just don't feel comfortable in my smallish hands. Well, the 36 did, but when I owned it (early 2000s) it wasn't reliable. I've owned many other guns who were/are comfortable for me, so I don't buy Glocks. Nothing against them, they just aren't for me.

I can not shoot this gun!!! Consistently high right. Just for S&G's I pulled my Sig out and ate the center of the target out with it. Sure I can keep all the rounds in a small torso target, but still this thing sucks so far.

I have many guns that have served my purpose for the last 30+ years. All with hammers, and steel or aluminum frames. See no need to change now.

Congratulations. You have two of the finest pistols in the world. Once you get used to them they grow on you. We have eight of the little rascals in my family. Glocks are like the AK47 of the pistol world they may not be pretty, but they always work and will last forever. They even like water.

Uhh that would be a No. I've waited too long to be able to afford one.

I carried a Glock 27 as a second gun and off duty gun for over 20 years. It was a great pistol and never let me down. I actually shot it better at qualifications than my Sig 220.

I gave mine to my youngest son when I retired. He thinks it has plenty of soul. (The loose rounds are the ones that were in it on retirement day)

Default NOT a Glockaholic...

I love the revolvers... S&W, Colt, and Ruger...
But I'm a realist, and also have a Glock 32 and Glock 33 in .357 SIG... with .40 S&W and 9mm barrels for both...and reloading supplies for all calibers...
I guess I got a little concerned after the 2012 election...

I was skeptical when my agency transitioned to the Glock 23 in the ‘80s due to the blocky grip, but learned to appreciate their simplicity and reliability. My only Glock is the Gen 4 17, used for LEOSA qualification & range fun, and it’s never had a failure of any kind.

Bought 2 Glocks last year. Figured by gen 4 they were no longer the unproven plastic fantastic. First the g19, then a g42. The trigger technique need adapting to keep sights on when that striker lets go. Replaceing the g19 barrel with ex storm lake model made immediate improvement.

Outside their reliability, the favorite feature for me are the old man sights. With the big white contrast, you can line them up even if your vision is fuzzy.

If I ever have the extra cash, I would not mind a Glock 17. May they serve you well and never be needed!

I have a Glock 19 Gen 4 as my concealed carry gun. I purchased it because of it's reputation for reliability. The more I shot it the more I liked it. I guess it sort of grew on me. I recently purchased a G34 to use as a range & steel plate gun . It's longer sight radius helps with accuracy and because it's used on the range only I am able to modify the sights to suit me & trigger for a lighter ,crisper pull . I find I can shoot it quite well .
While they don't have the elegance or beauty of my older Ruger & S&W revolvers there is something in their no nonsense simplicity I find attractive . For me it's not an either or choice ... I can and do enjoy both at different times and for different reasons.

Nothing wrong with a Glock. Run 200 rounds of your chosen defense round through them and if successful they will go bang when you need them. I have an HK USP 45 Compact that will make one ragged hole at 25 yrds with Speer Gold Dot shooting single action. Most ridiculously accurate handgun I own. For aesthetic contemplation I will take out one of my pre-lock snubbys, often when watching a game shooting at the bad team.

they are practical and useful tools...I have several although I was anti-Glock for many years until I shot some and saw the light. There is no attachment to them like the Smiths and Rugers and Colts, but my appreciation for them has grown over the last several years...I even have a 37 & 39 mixed in with 4 other more popular models. They all act well on the range and I don't worry about losing them even though I am mindful of their security and whereabouts at all times....I just wouldn't hurt so much if I lost one compared to the grief I would have if I lost or had a prized revolver or more expensive pistol stolen....pow-pow

I love my revolvers, but when the zombies come out, it's my glock 17 I'm going to reach for.

I don't love Glocks, but I value their utility. Here is my stable - a 21 and a 30; these keep the .45 ACP sector secure. The 30 is actually very accurate and surprisingly compact for having a 10-round magazine. The Gen. 2 Model 19 is my "insurance" gun - 15 rounds of HP 9mm in the mag (up to 30 if I want to use the hi-capacity mag) - goes bang every time and is fast to reload. Probably more of a SHTF gun, and one that I would not mind parting with - ugly as sin, but it works and fills a void.

I have several Glocks and the 19 is my overall favorite pistol (I have several of them) and my regular CCW. In a Foxx IWB with Remington Golden Sabers. I have about 20k rounds thru all of my Glocks put together- fantastic pistols.
