Default First CZ

So, cruising the gun show aisles with forum member WCCPHD, he spots the gun I’ve been looking for close to a year, a CZ75D Compact.

I inspect closely for a few minutes......
“How much for cash?” says I.............”OK, done”.

What a great looking pistol, and the grip-fits my hand like no other pistol. Only thing comparable, for me, is Spegels on revolvers.
Can’t wait for a cool day below 90 to get it running.

That grip sold me the first time I held it. LGS counterman unloaded his personal CC PCR, and handed it over to me. I didn't give it back until the LGS owner came out of his office and offered to order me one to try without obligation.

After you get it to the range, you'll know its a keeper. Flawlessly puts fast follow-up shots on target like nothing else I carry.

Enjoy!!

Congratulations! I like them myself even though I have never owned 1. I speak from having CZ clones. Currently have a IWI (Jericho 941 in 40 S&W). My son has the same in 45ACP. Bob

I’ve never heard a negative thing about them other than they are difficult to find.
They must have made a run of them recently because I saw one today on Grabagun. But I got a better deal at the show, surprisingly.

Congrats on a great gun. Yours appears to have the grooved trigger. Mine has the smooth trigger. I have seen both. No rhyme nor reason.

I just looked at mine and it has a smooth trigger. Are they still putting loaded chamber indicators on them?

You will enjoy it. I have owned a Jericho, Witness and CZ. Hands down, CZ wins. Not sure why, but, it just does it for me.

Just sold a Kadet .22 and still have the full size CZ 75. Working on buying a used CZ 97 in 45 acp that was Cajunized from a member of the club, a tack driver. CZ makes a great product. You will enjoy yours, let us know how it shoots. Larry

Why remove it?

Mine came out all by itself during a shooting session during the first week I owned it, and CZ sent me a new one right away for free. I put it back in with a lite thread locker, but the gun functioned identically either way. I like having it. It is just a tiny spring plunger.

Congrats ! Glad you found one, I've been following your CZ quest, you made a great choice. Just wait till you shoot it.

My LGS had a slightly used one recently, thought about getting it, to go with my PCR. A friend loves my PCR, so I thought I'd let him get it, when we went back to the shop a bit later it was already gone. They don't stay on the shelf long.

THAT IS A DANDY.

I've a busted up, plum worn CZ-75 that was an ex foreign police/military trade in pistol.

Looks like hell, shoots like heaven. They are DURABLE and a PROVEN gun you can get behind and trust your life on. About the only problem with the time tested 75 is the occasional loose nut on the trigger.

My SP01 Shadow has those grips. They fit my hand perfectly. When I find a PCR for the right price I will be snagging one.

Going to wring it out on Tuesday. If everything goes as expected it will be my late fall/winter carry.
What are you folks using for holsters, I’m thinking leather and OWB.

I use a Winthrop pancake OWB... Great fit. Good retention. Minimal break-in required. Affordably priced.

Funny; I bought a Kadet not too long ago.....

and have a full size 75B I got about a year ago........

It I hadn't been so heavily invested in 3rd Gen Smiths ..... I would have gone with CZs about 20 years ago as they feel a lot like a Hi-Power in my hand.

There Rifles are about the best value going..... rimifires are great and the 527 mid'size centerfire rifles are perfectly sized for the .223/5.56

I still regret selling the immaculate pre-B CZ75 I owned years ago, but times were hard. It was a superb pistol. Sold it to a retired LEO who was a real gun guy.

Mine rides in a Kramer #3 IWB and for OWB a Kramer MSP Paddle....not cheap, but as good as it gets. Both are horsehide.

The one I have is labeled a D Compact on the slide but has the rail like the P 01 I also have a 75BD full-size. Like BigWheelZip I think CZs are the most comfortable pistols available today. The decocker kind of threw me at first - it de-cocks to half cock, but with the generous SA take up I soon learned that the CZ engineers were attempting to try to make the DA pull and SA pull similar. Great idea for the shooter - a consistent DA and SA pull.

I really like my CZs. I have no complaints and only praise for them.

I have had a couple CZ-75s and clones and they are my favorite defensive handgun. The last CZ-75 I bought was an Omega that had a great single action trigger pull but the double action pull almost took two hands to yank it. A Cajun Gunworks spring kit is about 20 bucks and it does wonders for the trigger pull and is fairly easy to install.
