I couldn't think of a better way to spend Independence Day (the local festivities are on Saturday) so despite the fact that it's past 90 degrees, I took my Winchester 1885 Low Wall in .32-20, that was made in 1889 out to the range. I recently ended up breaking the sear spring in this gun, and trying to find an original or correct fitting reproduction has been next to impossible, so I ended up making one myself and had to tweak it a little. Well, here are the results. It's pulling a little left at 25 yards, but that's a five shot group with factory Remington 100 grain ammo. Except for the one flyer, it is now shooting under an inch. Not bad for nearly 130 years old. Then I took and set up the bison target out to 50 yards and had a go at that with six rounds. The trigger pull right now is a little over 3 pounds and is very pleasant to shoot. Happy Independence Day!
