Default Colt Officer's acp grip opinion

I have a 1985 Colt officer's ACP that i bought new when I lived in Connecticut. Originally it was dull stainless, but I had it polished out except for the top of the slide. No Bubba polishing job here. Living in CT, I walked this in the door of the Colt Custom Shop, and picked it in its' new finish.

So, I want to get nice grips for it, without getting stupid about the cost. So, wood, dark, light, smooth, checkered, grashorn elk( smooth or bark)??? The gun looks like a Python Ultimate or a highly polished nickel.

Thanks

I have always been partial to Tulipwood. You're on your own on a supplier though.

Don't know if it helps, but I had a set of those Herret's D45 stocks on a two-tone 1911. The contrast against the silver of the hard chrome frame was really nice, IMO.

Personally, I think dark colored grips would look best on a bright stainless gun. I think the contrast would be more of an eye catcher than a light-colored grip. Hence my recommendation for black water buffalo horn earlier.
