Default Love my new CZ

Where have these guns been all my life? .
First off, I’m a terrible shot, ask anyone whose been with me at the range.........ceilings beware
Took my CZ75D Compact out for it’s maiden voyage this afternoon. S&B 115 gr Ball ammo, first pic on left @ 10 yards.
Then with my 115 gr Ball reloads, 6.0 gr Unique @ 25 yards
I’d say this gun did ok in spite of me.
Still need to work on my photo’s

CZ's are superb guns. Just got a CZ75 SP-01 Tactical early last month and it is fantastic! Good shootin' BTW.

My father in Law, loves the Cz P09 that we bought two years ago. Is very common that people around ask "What gun is that"? at 20 yards it makes a ragged hole with the 19 + 1 rounds.

Glad to hear it's worked out for you. If it's like ours, it keeps growing on you, and making your response better. It is a keeper for sure.

Thanks for all the encouragement you gave me over the past several months, this gun is a winner.
I handed the CZ to one of my gym buddies who went to the range with me, and he was impressed with the feel. He shot two mags and loved it. When we’re leaving he stopped at the counter and handled the same gun with a safety but decided he preferred the decocker. No surprise they didn’t have one.

The range is first class all the way.

Welcome to the CZ fan club. I only have one right now (P-09 Urban Grey), but I love it. I really want to see what these new P-10s are going to be about (P-10F and S)

Default Congrats on your CZ

Congratulations on your CZ. Before I recently started on my old S&W .357 kick I was a long time CZ fan. Love all mine including a 85 Combat, P-01, SP-01, Phantom, Scorpion, and I just got a new Shadow 2 (which is a tank). All shoot great. Once you get 1 you'll probably want more.

A very nice, well-mannered, flawless-running, and accurate gun the CZ is.

Ought to be way more popular than some other guns that could be mentioned.

These guns are very well made;Col.Cooper was extrolling its virtues in the '80s.
Cz has been making guns for a long time.Hitler,as soon as his troops entered Czech gave orders to secure the plant. He knew what he was doing.
I actually got one but am planning on getting my second one soon. And they are accurate.Enjoy yours!

Metal frame DA/SA semi auto pistols performing and selling well in the age of plastic, who knew?

I find it very interesting that CZ is still making and selling a metal frame DA/SA handgun when most manufacturers tell us that it is cost prohibitive to do so.

In this day of CNC production, costs cannot be that outrageous can they?

I bought my first CZ 75 (made in 1987) in a pawn shop here in Montana for $150 and it had 6 magazines with it as well. A double stack 9mm that wasn't made by S&W at that time carried NO interest with Montana shooters. That started a journey that has landed 7 more CZ's in various configurations.

Probably my favorite is the CZ 40B which was a joint effort with Colt and then introduced by CZ as a stand alone model.....

much like a 1911, but a double stack magazine, CZ 75B upper and trigger control, grip angle same as 1911, can be cocked and locked if you want and used CZ 75B magazines, although most of mine are EAA Witness magazines as they are cheaper cost.

The more you shoot your CZ, the more will show up and stay!!!

Randy

Just a couple of links to help you out with your photo's.

Nikon D850 DSLR Camera (D850 Camera Body) B&H Photo

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens 20052 B&H Photo

Yeah, I'm a bit of an instigator. Next time your better half is complaining about your firearms purchases just have her take a look at these two items.

PS; don't feel so bad about your shooting. Fact is that if either of those targets were someone who intended you harm they be rather lacking in the ability to pursue that course of action. Ever since I lost the ability to actually focus on handgun or rifle sights I've become a lot less critical about shooting itty bitty groups, to put it simply Good Enough is Good Enough.

To the Original Poster or any others that shoot the CZ:
Are the stock sights set up for 12 o'clock (cover the target) hold or 6 o'clock (see the target) hold?
Thanks

Have been interested in the CZ75 for years but never purchased. At a gun show a few years ago purchased the Colt Z40 refered to in above post.Smooth full time “double action”, nice feel in hand.It is unfortunate the Colt/CZ deal didn’t work out. We missed out on a nice pistol.

Did a lot of research on the CZ and ended up with this:

387B8D8F-D41F-48D8-80E2-D939D0BFDBF9.jpg

Haven’t even fired it and ordered a scope mount and a Trijicon RMR. Love the trigger but as a DA revolver guy I’m going to have to get used to it. I’ve become a CZ fan.

Regarding 9mm self-loaders the BHP and CZ-75 have always been tops in my book. Far more ergonomic than the recent tactical tupperware pieces and easier to shoot well and quickly. IF stuck having to carry a 9, either would do. Bottom line, given my druthers, for a semi auto pistol, it's one of JMB's designs in .38 Super, .45 ACP, .357 SIG or 10mm Norma. Revolver-wise, medium or large framed Colt, Ruger or S&W in .357 magnum, .44 Spl, .44 Magnum or .45 Colt. The old blackpowder cartridges are fine in their own right, too. I've just no desire to rely on something as light as .38 Spl or 9mm despite all the hype over the new bullet designs...

If you like CZ pistols....you got to check out their long guns..... about the best bang for the buck going! Mauser actions in 3 sizes.... rimfire, a mid size for .223 & 7.62x39, and large centerfire .243 and up.

Ladder13...

How would you compare that CZ to similar older Smiths? I haven't joined the CZ club (yet?) and wonder what I'm missing.
