Did Colt ever manufacture this revolver with a 3" barrel?

I have a 3 inch Police Positive Special made in 1915. Which is a good thing,

3" versus 2"-police-positive-special-serial-110580-jpg

because my girlfriend took a liking to my Model 36-1...

3" versus 2"-s-w-36-1-serial-j498887-jpg

She let's me shoot it as long as I keep her supplied with ammunition.

Serven's Colt book lists the PP Special as having only 2", 4", 5" and 6" barrels.

I believe the 3" guns were Detective Specials, at least later. The only difference between the PPS and DS was the barrel length.

Yeah, I've seen three-inch Det. Spcls., maybe Cobras too. And I think, Couriers.
