Hello, I have a 357 magnum model 14-2 with a 6 inch interchangeable barrel, from early 80's time frame, satin blue finish. Original packaging, cleaning kit, manual, carry holster, plus ammo. It is in good condition, been sitting in a closet. I am curious to how much it might go for these days ??

They are really good guns, well designed and very accurate. Built like a tank phrase comes to mind when speaking of Dan Wesson revolvers. Though they have a following the prices have not caught up with them. A quick check I did on guns that actually sold on a large auction site shows they are going for between $350 and $600. Yours being in a complete set in box in wonderful shape would put it at the top of the rage maybe a ltitle more. My suggestion would be to clean it up and get acquainted with it and go down to a range to shoot it some, make sure to clean after using then put it in a safe to hold on to and get it out a couple times a year to enjoy shooting it. Maybe 10 to 15 years it may double or more in value. Good luck and enjoy. P. S. We like pictures how about opening the box and show us a couple pictures of the gun!

I recently bought a 4 inch 15-2 with no box or extras and a patch of white metal on the barrel for $300. I am still coming to terms with the trigger and have had some issues with trigger not resetting properly which seems to caused by the trigger stop screw moving around on its own. I can fix it by adjusting the screw but I can't figure out what is making the screw turn in the first place. But when it works it is very accurate.

If I were you I'd be tempted to keep it rather than sell it for $350 or so. I'd say it's practical value exceeds its resale value. But I think that about everything, thus the crowded gunsafe and the herd of motorcycles in my drive way.

Just as another point of reference for you, a couple weeks ago I accomplished a nice pawn shop rescue on a 6" DW 15-2 (model with adjustable rear sights), that also had the ventilated barrel rib, interchangeable barrel and full heavy barrel underlug. No box or tools. Talked the owner down to $450 which I thought was a heck of a good deal.

Not a Dan Wesson expert but I have the impression that your 14-2 is actually an early 70's model, one of the "Pork Chop" Dan Wesson's due to the appearance of the mating point of the barrel shroud. As for why, I believe that the model 14 preceded the model 15. Pic of the gun itself would be very helpful.

Figure out the correct setting for the screw and put a drop of blue Locktite on the treads, had the same issue with a Rock Island 1911 trigger over travel screw moving about the Locktite took care of it.

I know some guys use clear fingernail polish for the same deal.

I bought one with a 6 and a 8'' bbl for $550 in pristine condition.I also bought a 6'' stainless for $450 in very good condition.
In both cases,I'm being offered to sell them for aprox $100 more than I paid for.
Hope this is of some help.
