Been a 110 fan since 1970. Sent it in to get a new blade 1984. The knife I got back looked brand new. Not sure if it was even the same knife.

You guys are making me hungry for one. Bought the Alpha folding hunter 2 years back and the blade is also great for skinning. Buck does a great job I have heard with 420HC steel.

Buck 110s are classics. Here are my two. One a drop point 5160 carbon steel blade model. The other a 110 LT with the standard clip point 420 HC stainless blade.

I bought a 110 for each of my two sons a couple of years ago, great knives. I carry a Buck 112 it looks just like the 110 but is about 3/4" shorter closed. I found the 112 in my yard, with the lawn mower, the leather sheath got sliced but the knife hasn't a mark on it!

A Buck 110 is a good knife. I bought mine about 1980 or so and still use it from time to time.

I won one at a trap shoot many years ago, and saved it in my safe for # 2 son . He got old enough and I gave it to him along with a Buck sheath knife from another shoot

One day I will go to the custom shop and see if I can’t get that 5160 drop point in a full flat grind. I like my 110, but I would love one like that.

My drop point came from Copper & Clad. They have a flat ground 420 HC drop point, if you can live with stainless.

I went to the 112. Made a horizontal sheath for it. I love it. I have had a Buck knife of some sort since I went to college in '78. Very good knives. Even the steel in a small Chinese made Buck I have by my recliner has impressed and done me well. Enjoy that 110 ! ! !

My sporting goods manager at a local WM caught me as I walked in a few years back. He had put one of the 50yr editions back for me when they went on after Christmas clearance - accidentally, as they had a different SKU, and the big manager said "make them go away" to clear his inventory odd-balls.
I have no idea how many knives of what description have been stolen, lost, "borrowed", and seized by customs in the third and fourth worlds in 50+ years of travel.
The 110, a 119, and a K-Bar are in my go bags.

These two work horses have gotten more hand time than any other gun or knife I own. Enjoy your new 110 for many years.

During the 1970s and into the 80s 110s and copies were the closest any knife came to being the universal workman's knife. I still have the first one I bought about 1970. Its blade is worn from sharpening but it functions as good as new.

My worn 1969 vintage 110 that I rebuilt a few years ago by using a Damascus blade and African Padauk wood.

I have Buck knives, but never a Model 110. I do have a VERY similar Puma Whitetail, which looks like the knife in the OP. But the scales are white Micarta, not polished stag.
And my Puma has brass bolsters, not NS or stainless. I really prefer stainless bolsters.
It's a good knife, but heavy for its size.
With stag, my knife is called the Prince. They make the basic model with several handle options.
I'm quite sure the Buck Model 110 was what inspired the Puma versions.

The Buck 110 is a fine folding knife. I carried one daily for many years, and used it several times to field dress mule deer and an elk or two. Tough as nails, takes an edge and holds it as well as anything made by any knife company. Only complaint I ever had was that carrying the Buck 110 was like carrying a roll of quarters, heavy and bulky for everyday use.
About 1984 or so I found the Buck Squire model. Nearly as capable as the 110, but much slimmer and lighter, easier to carry in the pocket. Still have it and like it to this day.
About 2003 I picked up a Gerber folder, 3-1/8" clip point blade with thumb-stud, G10 scales, liner lock, pocket clip. Very lightweight, very little bulk, ATS-34 stainless steel that holds an edge very well. Probably 1/4 of the weight and bulk of the Buck 110, easy one-hand opening and closing. It has served me very well for 15 years and will probably continue to do so for another 15 or more.
I have carried a pocket knife for 60 years (since age 8), can't imagine going out of the house without my knife, my keys, my wallet, and a pistol. I appreciate a good working knife, and I work my knives every day, even if doing nothing more than opening the mail. My wife frequently asks me to cut something for her, knowing that I always have the tool ready to do the work. Maybe I should buy her a good knife?

Lobo, a word to the wise. If you buy your wife a good knife, you might become dispensable. Best to remain in the "indispensable" category. We gotta be good for something!!

I bought my only 110 44 years ago - I am currently on the third belt sheath for it. I hope to live long enough to order my fourth sheath one day.

Although the Buck 501 Squire comes with a belt sheath, I always pocket carry mine. Picture shows the massive size difference between the Buck 110 Folding Hunter and the 501 Squire.

110s make a good Christmas gift. I gave one to each of my grandsons,
and grandsons in law, a few year back. I didn't hear any complaints.
Here's my little lockback collection. Left to right: Buck 110, Puma Prince,
Marbles Damascus, Schrade, Bear, Case, Camillus, and a Gerber Gator II.
Click on the thumbnail to enlarge. Then click on the photo to enlarge more.
