"Colt or Smith & Wesson?" in 1965 Gun Digest
In the 1965 edition of Gun Digest [Annual], A. B. Kazan wrote an article titled, "Colt or Smith & Wesson?" Does anyone have the 1965 Gun Digest or the article that begins on page 147? I want to buy a copy of the article or the Gun Digest.

That's a good article. Have you tried eBay? They usually have used Gun Digests for under ten dollars.

I have the complete set on CD somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

The complete run of GD from 1944 up to about 2015 (or maybe later by now) is available at a reasonable price ($70) from the publisher as PDF files on DVDs, also lots of old hard copy GDs are to be found on eBay. The cheapest one (1965) listed there at present is about $11 including postage.

I mailed the copies to you yesterday. My edition has a $15 price tag on it, but I have no ideas as to how long ago I bought it. I think it must have been 15 years ago that I completed my collection.

I also have the complete run of hard copy GDs going back to 1944, but they take up too much space. I am thinking of keeping the oldest ones and giving the others to a friend. I have the GD DVD PDFs loaded onto my computer and, aside from taking up no space, that is really much better and faster for searching.

I started out with 3 or 4 issues I bought at a garage sale. The couple were trap shooters and I also got some powder and primers. I am not a collector per se, I just started buying copies at gunshows and started filling in the gaps. It took years and was a lot of fun.
They make interesting reading on a rainy day.
