Default Pair of Ruger Mark II Targets...

The Mark II collection has doubled. Landed the super clean 10" 'bull barrel' Target last week. This thing looks like it was seldom shot. The balance is not as bad as i had imagined it would be. Looking forward to shooting it, and maybe squirrel hunting with it (as is) this fall. A thousand or so rounds should break it in. I'm trying to find a decent holster (chest, or side draw) for it, but not having any luck.
The dealer also has a 5.5" bull barrel blue Target that came from the same original owner (too bad he tossed the boxes). I'm tempted to get it too, if it's not already gone by now.
The 4" I bought in 2010. It's a sweet shooter, and it's just as scarce as the 10". Both are in the 221 serial # range

That's a nice pair, I missed an opportunity to buy a nice 10"
waited too long, got back to buy it but, it was gone.
I only have one that is very well tuned, it's a very accurate pistol. I'd never part with it.

I will second the motion regarding the decent balance of the 10-inch Mark II, and I just don't know how they did it. First time I picked one up, I figured it would be a boat anchor but it felt gooooood. I really do want one, I certainly don't need one. The last one I passed on was a blued 10" offered at $650, if I remember correctly. It's been at least a year since I saw it.

The one I have, bought new in 1994 and love is the KMK-512, Ruger speak for stainless, 5.5" bull barrel. A couple years ago I bought the Volquartsen trigger, hammer and sear kit and while I'm not a huge fan of the look or rounded contour of the Volquartsen trigger itself, the trigger is definitely an upgrade, especially now with an overtravel stop.

These pistols are simply better than their price point.

Love the bull barrel Rugers. This one currently wears a reflex sight, as my eyes are having trouble focusing on the front sight these days. This pistol has had several thousand rounds through it. Bought new some 20 plus years ago. Always thought of it as a 6" barrel, but never measured it.

Very nice addition to your collection! I also have two Ruger target pistols a mark II 6.7/8 tapered barrel and a 6 7/8 fluted mark III Hunter model both are SS. One day I would like to get one with the 10" 'bull barrel. Last Saturday my two son in-laws and I shot a brick of 22 through them at steel.

The balance was pretty decent even with an empty mag. Not that that many rounds of 22 weigh very much... so it won't be much different loaded.

I haven't been checking the prices on 10 inch bull barrel Mark IIs, so I didn't realize that they were fetching that much money. Honestly, if it we're in that price range that would have deterred me from buying it. This one cost me $331 otd.
The 5.5" was priced the same.

Sweet. I didn’t even know such a think existed. Been wanting a bull barrel Ruger for a long time, but no luck so far.

I've owned a number of Ruger .22 pistols in various configurations, and they are great pistols that offer a lot of bang for the buck. The MKll bull barrel target model shown is only very slightly less accurate than my High Standard Victor. It wears a surprisingly crisp and clear Simmons 2x scope in a butt ugly clamp on mount that allows the use of the iron sights with the scope mounted. It, along with my HS has accounted for a lot of small game.

Yours is the same as mine, the KMK-512, but wearing an optic and some very glossy stocks made for a Mark III or IV (given the cutout for a button magazine release that no Mark II except the 22/45 had)

Congrats on your new purchase. I have the Mark II 5½-inch target with the bull barrel. I realize that there are a lot of great shooting, quality .22 handguns out there, but you have to go a long way to beat the Ruger Mark II.

One just like mine pictured would fall nicely right into the middle of your collection. I put different grips on it and usually gets taken to the range when I go. Can put the target all the way to the back wall and with any kinf of ammo hits center most times.

I also have a fixed-sight Ruger, but mine is a ca. 1954 Standard Model, in (almost) like-new condition. It was a real bear to get those sights adjusted. I was beginning to believe the rear sight was welded into place. Also had to file down the front sight. My first shots at 25 yards were over a foot low and right of the aiming point. Hard to imagine that it left the factory with the sights so poorly adjusted but evidently it did. Probably why it showed so little sign of use - the previous owner couldn't hit anything with it.
