Default Street Sweeper

Just watched a you tube video of a Berneli semi shotgun with a 25 round capacity, very impressive. Is the banned "street sweeper" shotgun still banned, if so why?

It is still banned. Sort of. Classified as AOW or destructive device. I forget which. Friend of mine has one. Its a piece of junk. It got banned because it looks scary and makes the soy boys wet the bed.

They hit the scene just around the time I turned old enough to buy guns. Probably first appeared in some Schwarzenegger film..or some other cheesy 80's action films. Like kwselke said above, I think they were more for show. They rarely functioned as advertised. They probably have gained some collector value as novelty and nostalgia items.

Destructive Device classed. 'No Sporting Purpose'.
( I don't know,,I think it'd do well at skeet, 5-Stand and SC.)
You can have one if you pay the NFA stamp tax and the crazy price for one.

Another 'scary looking gun' so It'd be best just to tax/ban it so the kids are safe.

You mean those clays games where you only load two rounds at a time?

Friend of mine has one. Shot it once. Wasn’t too impressed. Ok to shoot. Pain in the rear to load and unload.

I had a Armsel Striker 12. It functioned 100% of the time and very fast. It was a fun to shoot, but painfully slow to reload.

The later versions known as "street sweepers", those were poorly made junk. I think Cobray made them. Unlike the auto eject Striker 12, StreetSweepers had to have their empties poked out like an old single action and even slower to reload.
