Default Browning import, BR9?

In June '19 issue of Shooting Illustrated on about page 54, Mr. Patrick Sweeney reviewed a pistol imported from Tisas in Turkey. It looks like a nice pistol for the approx. price around $500. It seems to have been built on, or improved on, the Hi Power P35. For 5 C-notes, this may be a decent pistol. Has anyone owned or shot this gun? MSRP $529 seems like a nice price for a 13+1 capacity (with an extra Mec-Gar 13-round mag) non-polymer pistol. I'm relatively sure it will sell for less. $500 steel gun seems pretty good, but, besides the author of the write-up, has anyone tried this pistol out yet? In advance I thank all input. Cylinder and Slide is using them as the basis for their custom Hi Powers. That's not a bad endorsement.

I've heard complaints of extraction and firing pin issues in the early pistols, but the word is that these issues have been corrected.

I've been following them on my radar.

I picked up a Tisas 1911 a couple years ago and have been very satisfied with it. They have good machinery and resources apparently, and the 1911 and HP are classics that are way beyond patent dates. With FN giving up the model, and FEG (the traditional clone) out of business, this is now the only maker going.

Interestingly enough, they have a stainless model, something we've not seen in the HP design before.

There are a number of reviews on Youtube you might want to look at.

Most everything I've seen on them has been very positive.
Seemed the moment Browning announced their discontinuance of the HP, even the formerly cheap clones price went up exponentially.
It prompted me to buy an FEG, even though I already had a Browning.

Had I not already bought the FEG, I'd be all over the Tisas.
Also like the idea of them offering it in SS. Great idea.

It seems like the SS, the most expensive of the 3 I've seen offered, is about $50 more than the least expensive all black cera-coat finished. I actually tried to buy one couple nights ago, I believe Brownells website, but the price changed from what it was listed at to $10 more at checkout, shipping wasn't what was quoted on the site, there was some code # for discount that at check-out didn't jive with what it said, so I think it was meant for me to wait a while; maybe speak with someone at LGS in the South Hills Area of Pittsburgh about the pistol, etc. We have a very good shop here that most on this forum know of...lucky me! If anyone in this area (Tri-state area of W. PA- Ohio-WVA) know of a shop that may have one of these in stock I'd like to look at & feel one in my hands. This pistol is calling to me for some darned reason! Metal, good caliber, not ugly, nice price, etc.
