Default Anybody know anything about microtech???

Was in court chambers today-strict weapons free zone. Talking to a friend who is one of the judges and he says conspiratorily-hey check this out and hands me a Microtech front loader which just took switchblades to another level for me! This thing looks pretty solidly built and I WANT ONE !!! Sat there for a few minutes opening and closing the thing and was pretty impressed. Cheap Mexican switchblade it ain't Fairly pricey at a little over $200 but if the steel is good and will hold an edge, might be the next purchase. Anyione have any experience with these???. Website says they can't give the steel for the blade as it changes depending on what is available which concerns me. What say anyone???

I have a halo and a troodon, Microtech makes quality OTF’s. I have had the Halo for years, carried it extensively. Bought the Troodon a couple of years ago. Both of mine will hold an edge and I keep them sharp. In the OTF world Microtech’s are highly regarded. I highly recommend them. Blade hq lists most of their models and spec’s including what steel is in the blades, steel type varies from model to model.

I have a Microtech Ultratech and I love it. Carry it everyday everywhere. Very well made with tight tolerances - nothing at all like the cheap imported junk you see at gun shows.

Previously I couldn't imagine paying $300 for a knife - until I picked this one up and extended the blade for the first time. Wow! I had to have it.

If you buy one, make sure the seller will let you sleep on his couch when your wife throws you out of the house because you keep extending and retracting the blade!

They build a quality product that is well regarded by those that own them and envied by those that dont yet own them. Buy at least one and enjoy it! Kyle

Y'all are killing me! After the fire I lost some of my knives and I cannot decide what to obtain and then this thread:

The Knife for When You Can't Carry a Gun

And now THIS thread!!!!

I was considering a Cold Steel Frenzy:

Frenzy I by Cold Steel

(c) Cold Steel Inc 2018

Now these lovely Microtech knives! OH DEAR! Oh, YUMMY!

I carry this simple switchblade every day:

I also carry this old fashioned OTF knife:

My other OTF knife is an inexpensive (dare I say cheap?) item I bought for the novelty of matching it to an inexpensive (dare I say cheap?) little 9mm I happen to have:

But now, OH DEAR!!! I am loving the Microtech. We shall see.

Thanks, Cajunlawyer - and I will presume that judges are exempt from the no weapons rules there, yes?

My son, his wife, my D-I-L, and my S-I-L all fly different craft for the USAF. I have my son and his wife Benchmade Autos to carry in the shoulder pocket of their flight suits and my S-I-L I gave an OTF Microtech to carry in his pocket when flying. All three are neat knives but the Microtech is definitely a different animal. Recently a friend whose nephew designs for Benchmade was able to buy two knives on a family discount and he bought the Benchmade Pagan OTF for himself and the second one for me. They are very well made too.

Never heard of OTF but it seems everyone else has

Out The Front. Makes sense. I had one of the Christy knives many years ago. They might make fun gifts for a couple of my older grandsons.

Many years ago I gave my son-in-law a Delica for him to carry in his flight suit. The Microtech looks like some fine gear.
