Perfect timing, I have an AR Pistol and was in the same conundrum. I like billet and I like wood , but EVERYBODY has billet grips and I wanted something unique, but looked right on an AR. I found this guy online that makes his version of a billet grip with wood panels, I ordered them immediately when I saw them because of their fit and finish, absolutely gorgeous. He's a super guy to deal with and very responsive and emails you right back with any answers. His name is Kelly Kramer and the company is "Indignant Arms", check him out, but here's what I ordered:
Black anodized billet grip with Cocobolo grip panels.
Cocobolo m-lock rail panels for my hand guard.
My panels will extend to each end of the hand guard, but the one's in the picture are too short, I think he ordered the wrong panels because you order them by the size m-lock (or picatinny) that's on your gun.
Other than mine having a 7.5 barrel, this is almost identical to my Springfield Armory Saint Pistol (last picture)

Not to hijack the thread but how do you like your SB pistol brace? I just got one yesterday but haven't installed it yet.

I received a link to this video in my e-mail just a few days ago. I think it looks pretty good. You can buy just the pistol grip separately.

Mine doesn't even look like this anymore, I replaced my bolt assist lever with the Phase 5 B.A.D. lever and replaced the trigger guard with the Timber Creek billet skeleton trigger guard. I Put a Sig low profile laser on the front too, but will add a Sig red dot later.
Absolutely best way to go is pistol, but since you have the "3rd" selector position on your lower you have to get the Fostech Binary Trigger too, lol.
Mines on order and can't wait. Post a picture of your pistol so far.

Yes, Indignant Arms sells just the billet grip too if you wanna try and make the panels yourself, to me it's worth having him do it since they're so precise and nice. Personally, I wanted billet with wood panels, Boyd's are just wood only I think, but look nice too if that's your thing.

Thanks, hemi, I'd seen those in my google cruising. Good to know you like them, it's real close to what I'm after. My ideal would be a set of Culina combats in cocobolo. I can dream, I guess.

Do those have any palm swell at all ? I have size 10 or 11 hands, I'd like to get something with a bit of a palm swell like in the old style coke grips on N sq frames.

Can't post pictures right now because the parts are being cerakoted in burnt bronze to match the original "Honey Badger"
color. When I get the parts back I'll start a thread on the build.

Actually, they do. On some of his videos he shows you both sides of the grips and they're med to large it looks like, right up your alley and he has the Cocobolo you're looking for too. Check out his website.

Finally finished up with my build, these are the Indignant Arms grips I was telling you about. If you want wood and aluminum, these are the way to go.
