Default Taurus PT111 Millenium

hello friends, I sold one of my M&Ps because I needed some quick cash. With the sale of my 9c there was a trade involved and that was a relatively New PT111 Millennium.
At first I was thinking," do I really want this Taurus?" So, I checked it out closely....... The grip does make this gun more appealing, the overall feel of this gun is nice. Well I ended up taking it to the range to see how it performed. Surprisingly this gun shoots quite well! My main complaints will be the initial trigger pull However, In defense of this trigger the reset is probably the best unmodded trigger I have felt. The second is the factory sights..... they take some getting used to and i might change them to night sights.
Now with all that said I realize it is an inexpensive firearm 200.00-260.00
Due to my work, any firearm I decide to carry I have to have a qualify card for I went for it and amazingly I scored 289/300

Default taurus millenium

not to scare you but most of the milleniums were recalled by taurus and replaced with a new model.
you should call Taurus as once to see if your pistol is affected.
Best Regards

I have a PT145 Millennium Pro and one of the newer PT111 G2 models. The new one is nice but the PT145 is an exceptionally good gun. It's never once failed to fire through about 5000 rounds and it is very accurate. I did change the sights on it. I never cared much for the Straight 8 sights that came on it. That was it's only fault. They claim they may fire if dropped even if the safety is on but I dropped mine a couple of times when I was carrying it in a IWB holster. You sit down with those holsters and guns tend to roll right out. It never fired of course. But I wouldn't want to keep carrying it knowing what I do now. I also don't want to sell it back to Taurus at a reduced rate and get a G2 in its place. I have a G2. It's a fine pistol but not nearly as accurate as the PT145. I don't know if I just got really lucky but I'd put that pistol up against just about any off the shelf pistol made for accuracy at 25 yards. It shoots more accurate than my Sig P220 until it gets out to about 30 yards. The short barrel will only stabilize bullets so far.

I keep the PT145 next to where I sleep though. I consider it a top notch HD pistol. I don't have to worry about dropping it but I still get the advantages it has. I sorta miss carrying it though. It was a great carry pistol until I learned about the issues it might have.

Thank you for your response. The G2 PT111 that I have is NOT one of the models that were affected and according to Taurus rep I have a lifetime warranty. This G2 shoots real nice.

My P111 G2 shoots great. It's what my wife wanted over everything she tried, and she fondled all brands before deciding. I've found it fits in my Shield holsters, so I "borrow" it from time to time.

They are great little pistols. I have an older Taurus 609 that is very similar to the 111. Mine was part of the recall, but I did not send it in. It has been shot a ton - well over 12,000 rounds through it. It has experienced exactly one failure in all those rounds, and that was a squib that left a bullet stuck in the barrel - so not the gun's fault. My son and I still shoot it just about every time we visit the range.

Until the recall I carried it now and then, but I won't carry it now that I know it may not be drop safe.

Don't know myself how good the g2's are but have read good things about them. Just won a bid on Gunbroker for a used one with 2 mags. $155, $20 shipping & $10 to my FFL for transfer fee. If they as good as said think I got a deal. Should get it next week & will see how good it is.
