"Bullet Bob, do you have any more pics of that Winchester? I think my dad had one of those when I was a kid but it was tube fed. I'd love to see if it was the same model."

Sorry that's is the only picture I have, but if you'll google Winchester 69, you'll see lots of images.

Did somebody say Kimber of New York?! This Hunter model was made with a lesser finish for a lower price, but this one actually has, I think, a very nice piece of wood underneath the finish. Very interesting action:

Had a Ruger 77/22 years ago, traded for another gun; not one of my better moves. Just bought a nearly new Savage MK2 FV SR at a very reasonable price. Mounted a 3x9 scope and looking for a bipod. Haven't gotten to the range yet, rainiest Sept. I've ever seen. Everyone needs a bolt action 22 lr.

I know, I'm not a fan of the checkering on the standard wood stock. There is a Talo distributor exclusive with a the stock I like but it has a stainless reciever/barrel, I prefer blued. Basically I want the Talo stock with the standard reciever/barrel setup.

I spent much of this afternoon working on my long dead mother's J.C. Higgins .22 short, long, and LR bolt action rifle from Sears. Based on the year I was born I figure she must have gotten it as a teenager sometime between 1950 and 1952. It had not been stored well and was pretty much untouched and forgotten for at least the last 45 years. I took it apart, got off the surface rust from the barrel, cleaned and oiled it to the satisfaction of my OCD, and then sanded the stock down to bare wood and applied a few coats of light colored stain. I'll hit it with a few coats of satin urethane tomorrow. I played with this gun in the house as a kid and must have dry fired it from behind the sofa at the TV at least 10,000 times. I just didn't know any better but I was convinced having a real unloaded gun to play Cowboys and Indians with was much cooler than playing with a toy one. As far as I can tell the rimfire firing pin is ok and I expect it to work as soon as I get it out to the range. It's not a tremendously valuable gun but it has huge sentimental value to me and will look awesome again by tomorrow night. Even if its performance is only mediocre once I get it sighted in again I think I will still be very happy.

I have numerous .22 rimfire bolt actions, but here are my favorites:

This vintage Winchester 75 sporter is the most accurate .22LR rifle of any make or any model I own.

Almost as accurate as the rifle above, this 77/22 Ruger is an excellent field rifle - lightweight and I don't worry about scratching the stock much.

When we turn to .22 WMR rifles - this is my favorite for longer reach and more power than the LR rounds. This is a Ruger American Rimfire, in its compact variation. Really nice adjustable trigger, quite accurate, extremely reliable feeding, and the stock is easily changed out with inserts to fit the owner. I did a thorough review on this rifle in the October 2018 issue of Dillon's Blue Press catalog/magazine.

As you might be able to tell, I know the European guns can be really nice, but I prefer to buy American!

Got .the .22mag compact also..... Love my CZs for accuracy and looks.... but hard to beat the RAR's for utility. Just got a Ranch in 5.56 that takes AR mags........ Pro-mag makes a nice short 5rd mag that works (never thought I buy a Pro-mag) with 10rd Mag-pul mags if the S everdoes HTF

Bolt action .22 LR rifles are my favorite rifles, I can't shoot 'em anymore, but I still like to look at 'em, fondle 'em, and share pictures of 'em, with others. I have several. here is one of my favorites. it is a Cooper Mod. 36 Classic.

Here's another cherished bolt action .22 LR rifle. It's a replica Winchester 52 Sporter, made by Browning. It's been shot very little, and has mostly been a safe queen, and is quaranteed to put a grin on my face, that couldn't be removed with an axe handle.

I have 1st year 77/22 and find it to be a tack driver when new I had a Burris Compact 6x. Rig shot well but
field of view on Compact, I didn't like. Swapped it out
to a 4x Redfield. 40yd sight in it will shoot a ragged hole. It shoots as well as many more expensive rifles.
Like Rem 541s and Finn Fire. I have a 1st year 77 in 270 that shoots exceptionally well too. I've heard a lot
of complaints on 77/22s but haven't run into anyone I
know that isn't happy with theirs.IMG_1468.JPG

I really enjoy shooting 22LR rifles. Last year I bought a 455 American, but only the .22LR. Great rifle with a good trigger and excellent accuracy. Nice wood too. Perfect weight and size. My only regret is i didn’t get the 22LR/17HMR combo.

My 455 is my third 22LR. I started out shoot .22LR with a Marlin 995 semi. About 10 years ago bought a Wifama wz 78. It’s a Polish training rifle from the late 70s-early 80s that thinks it’s a target rifle. 9+ pounds, 24” heavy barrel, adjustable trigger, adjustable LOP by sliding the trigger forward and back. wz 78s were imported as milsurps. Easily as accurate as my CZ 455, but it feels like your toting a Garand around. So I got the 455 American for a bit lighter rifle.
