I pulled a 20 ga Benelli M-2 out of the safe last night in preparation of dove season. It was stored in a gun sock and has gone unused for several years. The stock and forearm is extremely sticky-like it is degrading. The metal is OK. Anybody experience this issue with Benellis and could shed some light????

If you do a search, you can find some related into. It appears that back in 2015 or so the synthetic stocks would peel and be sticky to the touch. It also appears that Benelli replaced the stocks.

Thanks gentleman, my 20ga M2 is presenting with the same sticky stock syndrome. I thought it was just oils from handling/shooting that were still on the stock from the last round of clays. I will contact Benelli too. Thanks

There's a Benelli section in the Shotgunworld forums you might check.

Browning also has the "Sticky Stock" problem with there Dura-Touch coated stocks.

Just for the heck of it, try windex with ammonia.
Had a scope with a rubbery finish do that and the ammonia stopped it.

I might try a wipedown with a rag or paper towel wetted with mineral spirits to see what happens.

Browning replaced my brother-in-law's stock, no hassle.

Well, one more from the suggestion department......a Smith & Wesson folding knife with rubbery/plastic handle got so sticky that I almost threw it away. Somewhere I heard about using baking soda as a paste (with water). It worked perfectly. Gave it a good rubbing, rinsed with hot water - done! Might be worth a try on a small inconspicuous spot or two.

Well, talked to Benelli yesterday, guy took my name address and serial number of the gun and said a replacement stock and forearm will be in the mail. Apparently this is a common problem from the tome of the conversation. Problem is they are back ordered and waiting for a shipment from Italy. Anyway, I'm happy.

Got on the list for replacement under warranty. ....parts still back ordered. Benelli customer service was excellent to deal with. Thanks to those that gave the heads up on the replacement.
