Oh my, some of you have got it bad...I mean good.
I only have one of each J, K and N.
Not being a collector, my justification process has stalled. But I can assure you, I want more.

So far the stats tell me that .357 ownership follows the same general pattern as wealth distribution. Very few have large amounts...the majority have just a little...with a steep slope between the two. That's my take on it anyhow.

I had to pull up my records and do a count. The actual number actually surprised me! 15
Mostly S&Ws, a couple of ponies, a Ruger and a Rossi 92.

Had two 28s and a model 27 at the beginning of the year but traded them all off for something different. Even had a nice King Cobra for a spell. But just wasn't shooting them much. Prefer my 22s, 38s and 32-20s for target shooting and have a 41 Magnum for deer season.
357 is a fine cartridge but I have no need for it.

I got a Blackhawk around 1969, but I never shot it much and then only with 38 specials. BTW, it had a canted barrel. I sold it years ago as my main interest was 44's.
Went many years without, then having been so delighted with my short barrel 69, I got it a little brother in the 66-8.

*Cuánto más cuestan los revólveres en México? Aquí en los Estados Unidos promedian de $ 650 a $ 950 para la producción actual de cuadros L y N.

I'm going to have to type this out to count
640-1 (2)
60-9
65-5 LS
19-3
19-6
686-3
686-4
686-6
Blackhawk OM
Blackhawk NM
Dan Wesson 15-2
Rossi 92 20"
Rossi 92 16"
So the total is 14. I also have 3 revolvers chambered for .357 maximum and 2 more that are strictly 38 special.

I have only one 357 , a Ruger Blackhawk I bought in 1971 .
But after 47 years of practice , I can shoot it very well. Tiny clover leaf groups are normal.

Simple question - how many .357 magnum revolvers do you own, and that's any brand.

I get confused as to if it was J frames, K frames, L frames, or N frames?
Then are we counting Rugers, and or Colts?
Then are we counting lever action rifles?
Ok, I see the rifles are out.
Let's just say I have more then I need, BUT, not as many as I'd like.

3-Pythons
2-Model 66's
1-Model 19
1-Early Dan Wesson
1-Model 686
All of these were bought way back before prices got nuts.
I'm afraid I've now been priced out of the market and don't think I'll be adding any more.
The good news is that the above stable of .357's makes a great bunch, all in rotation.

I lucked into a 681-2 a few years ago. What a sweet revolver. Unfortunately one of my sons also fell in love with it and he got it as a gift at Christmas. He is still smiling!!!

Just acquired my first ever K frame, got a mint 19-4/4”bbl blued, all original. Awesome gun, but my other 357mag is my Dad’s old ‘68 Python, 6”bbl/blued. The Python truly is the KING of ALL REVOLVERS! I did own a 27-2/4”bbl, but I MUCH prefer the 19 to the 27. The 27 is needlessly big and cumbersome for the 357mag cartridge!

.357 Magnum survey
I’m well into double digits, and none say “357 MAGNUM” like this 50 year old M28.

Let's see - I have a m66 no dash snub, a m686+ 3", a m19-5 6" with 3t's, and a 327 trr8, and my fave, a pre-27 5". So, I have a total of 5! All of them get shot, but some more than others!

.357 and revolvers in general don't get a lot of press these days. IMHO that's a pity because the .357 is about as versatile and practical cartridge as one can find. I have owned and shot autos and revolvers in many calibers but I always go back to the .357. I have made some mistakes in my life and one is being down to seven .357s.

Good Morning, colt_saa,
You need a harem working 27/7 just to keep your masterpieces in pristine condition.
I share your affinity for the Model 27. I agree with many revolver aficionados who have opined that the Model 27 is the best revolver ever manufactured, but that was pre-Korth. I doubt that Korth is superior to a vintage Model 27.
Many decades ago, I fired a friend's Model 27. It was by far the most accurate revolver I have ever fired. It was far too heavy to be a CCW handgun. But it would've been an excellent mule deer handgun. I believe he bought it for its legendary accuracy. Get two testosterone laden dudes together & everything becomes competition, target shooting being huge example.
My opinion, which is the dominant opinion were we to excludes all other opinions, is the .357 Mag is our most versatile cartridge. It will do it all: kill big game, kill feathered upland game with shot capsules & wadcutters for rabbits (wilderness survival), print tiny groups on paper, and with the FBI load it's better than decent bipedal self-defense.
Were I to run across a Model 27 that was manufactured in the 70's with a 6" barrel, I'd be all over it.

My sincerest condolences to you.
I'm an orthopedic nightmare. I've had to many scalpels applied to me. I didn't know pain until my first physical therapy session. I have deepest empathy for those who endure pain every day.
I know that my big game seasons are growing smaller in number. Hence, I know of your predicament.
I wish you the absolute best and a divine miracle.

Post it in the classifieds here with good pics and a price (read the rules first). Lots of folks will get a look at it there.

Well since this is the “other brands” forum I feel this is appropriate. Disregard the 22 gp100 on top.

I have 5 but now if you ask of all your 357 revolvers how many do you shoot a steady diet of 357 magnum ammo I would have to say zero. Most all of my shooting is with 38 spl ammo not 357 ammo.

Really hate these surveys..... cus when I start counting ..... my count always comes up "More than I really need!"
.357 magnum has been my "go to" caliber for over 40 years.... in J,K,L and N-frames.... blue and stainless, square and round butts, fixed and adjustable sights with 2 1/2,3,4 and 6 inch barrels......... along with two pistol caliber carbines..... a Winchester Trapper and a Ruger 77/357.

I thank you all for voting. I am not sure what the poll tells us, exactly, but it is interesting nonetheless.
