Nice pickup. Rossi may never make octagon barrels again. Love plinking with mine in .357.

Picked up a blue Henry 22WMR to keep company with my Ruger Single-Six 22lr-22WMR. Henry's almost no fun to shoot. Goes right where it's aimed, every time.

They should both be fun guns to play with! I have a Browning 92 carbine in .44 Magnum. The recoil is brutal, so I usually shoot it with Specials. I suspect your Rossi would be way easier on the shoulder with Magnum loads with the extra weight of that long octagon barrel.
Is your Rossi of recent manufacture? For quite a while now, they have been making their 92s with a "safety thingy" on top of the locking block - earlier ones were pretty much as old John Moses designed them - only a half-cock "safety." I have an older Rossi in .357 without the safety thingy; I got rid of one with it as I think it spoils the original-style lines. These lawyer-friendly but visually insulting devices thankfully can be removed and a stud substituted if the owner wants to do so.

I have 8 Rossi 92s. I love them, they all have the safety which doesn't really affect operation. I leave mine there for a quick sell if I have to.
The 24" 44 mag is really interesting to me. I wonder what kind of velocity you could get out of that thing. My 20" will push a 240gr bullet 1700fps.
