I just bought a new, never fired Ruger SP101 9mm, it seems to have an issue in single action, one particular chamber seems to 'stick' the trigger reset. You can tap the gun sharply or thumb the trigger to get it to release/pop back out, I'll be sending this back to Ruger, but curious what this is for my own education?
I've uploaded a video showing the problem, you can see it does it on the first chamber, and repeats on the same chamber (5 shot).
It may be that one ratchet segment on the extractor is fitted a bit more tightly than the others. If so, it would likely resolve with some use. It is easily remedied in any case.
I have a 9MM SP-101, but have not experienced that issue with this particular gun. But in past, with both Rugers and S&Ws, I have detected that one ratchet segment or another is tighter than others.......
