I love an octagon barrel. My Henry is the blued octagon with peep sight and large loop lever. It's a really fun little gun to shoot, and impressively accurate. That large lever makes me feel like John Wayne in Stagecoach.
Congrats on that Golden Boy, it is a beauty. Enjoy!

Congratulations on the new addition
The Golden Boy has a great look to it
I got mine almost 20 years ago, it is serial numbered just a little past the 9000 mark
The little guy shoots as good as it looks

I found the factory rear sight on my GB difficult to use with my aging eyes, I replaced them with a Marble 3/8" dovetail rear peep sight.
Less expensive than a Skinner and works great: MARBLE ARMS RIFLE LONG BULLSEYE REAR SIGHT | Brownells
Just passing along the info in case you find yourself having the same problem.

A GB is on my "to buy" list, I have the Classic which is the blued and round barrel. I'd like to get the GB Eagle Scout edition, but retail I've seen those around $800 and for my budget that's a bit too much for a gun that's too pretty to shoot.
