This is not an offer for sale or a solicitation of offers to buy. I mentioned the thought of selling to explain the pictures and to emphasize just how nice this gun feels in the hands and on the shoulder. I would like to take it to a high end store where I could compare it to a Parker 20 gauge.

Was doing neither. Apologies if I offended You. Merely commenting on a great shotgun.

You really would have kicked yourself around the block if you had sold that beauty. I'm glad it still has a home with you.

Don't you have one with a checkered stock and better wood, too?

Yes I do:
Checkered is on top:
Note, the checkered Remington 17 is from 1931 or so and compares very favorably in terms of fit, finish, pointability and overall quality to my 1934 or so 12. ga. Winchester 21:

I have never owned a 17. My buddy had one that was his dad's
but he never used it. I get 10s & 29s occasionally. They seem
to have been more popular than 31s in this area. Now that I
think about it I don't believe I've ever shot one. The mentality
of shotgun buying in this area, was buy a 12g, more gun for
the money. There are a few 16g guns but older model 20s and
smaller are scarce. 12s would be rare if 10g pumps had been
available. You can't beat those old milled parts shotguns.

Plainest Model 21 I ever saw.
The Dallas Museum of Natural History has had Herb Klein's M-21, which I've held. It's a bit fancier, as were his other guns.
Jack O'Connor was very fond of the M-21, but I think all of his at least had full pistol grip stocks and probably had single triggers.
It's hard for me to realize that the M-21 was at one time just a normal production Winchester double gun.
