Smile Charter Arms .44 Bulldog Owners

Hi:
I am still having a sore right index finger from firing my old model (exposed ejector rod) Charter Arms .44spl Bulldog.
My last range session was a cast 240 grain LSWC ,with 5 grain unique, which is a accurate load but pleasant recoil.

Now I am thinking perhaps the trigger guard in the past was bent upward from the revolver being dropped ??

Any owner with a like revolver: would you measure the space between the bottom of the frame and the upper portion of the trigger guard and post it on this thread ?

Thanks,
JImmy

Jimmy, I measured from the front of the trigger where it enters the frame straight down to the inside of the trigger guard and got exactly 1".
I hope this is where you wanted.

I'm too lazy to dig it out of the safe, but mine (1983) has a slight upward sweet to the front to the trigger guard.

Hope that helps a bit.

The CA trigger guard is very similar to a J frame.

Hi:
I measure mine and it is 3/4". This might be the issue. I will let a gunsmith check it in the next few days.
Thank you to all who responded.

Jimmy
