Well I hope you don't ever sell it, and shoot the snot out of it while you own it. If you do want to sell, I would want the first shot at it......LOL.
Awesome rifle. You did well, no matter what you paid.

You're a lucky man. That's a tough one to find.

You've scored some good stuff lately. I'm trying to stay away from a certain auction full of Enfields at the moment. Could get expensive.

Thanks, Steve.
The FM23-36 arrived at my FFL today and I was able to grab a few pictures before it went into his safe to begin the 10 day "cooling off" period. I'll post them.

You stole it (by outbidding me). One of only 86 made, and documented by serial number by a Swedish expert. It went for half the price of the much more common military target in the same auction.

Hi, Bob.
Not very often that opposing bidders on one of these auctions make contact. I assume you are a fellow Swedish Mauser collector. Would love to see some of your other pieces.

No Swedes at the moment (thanks to you). Past owner of m41 sniper, several m96 rifles and, my favorite, a Mauser-made m94 carbine.
Enjoy,
Bob

I finally got a chance to compare the FM23-36 to my CG63 Swedish target rifle
It is clear that the barrel profile on the FM23 is significantly heavier than the CG63. I tried to take a few pictures to demonstrate that...
Still have to get these rifles out to the range for a shoot off.

The Swedes are indeed high quality. Fantastic rifles.
My M38 is a "never sell", as is my 1995 Kimber-sporterized M96.
That 710 doesn't even deserve to wear the Remington name.
