Default Smaller strong double action 45 Colt?

Is there available a five- or six-shot 45 Colt double action revolver that is safe with 45/300/1000 loads? Saeco makes a bullet mold for a 300-grain SWC-GC that can be handloaded in 45 Colt brass to complete cartridges that fit comfortably in Single Action Army (cartridge overall length fits but handload described is unsafe for SAA) chambers and also in the shorter Freedom Arms Model 97 chamber. So the problem is to identify a smaller double action revolver (for smaller users) - say near the 33.5 ounces of an unloaded all-steel FA 97 with 4.25-inch barrel.

I suspect Charter Arms revolver may not be available with 4-plus inch barrels. And I have doubt that if available, whether it would accept shooting such a cartridge regularly.

FYI: My Freedom Arms Model 97s in 45 Colt shoot significantly heavier handloaded cartridges regularly. But the revolvers' inherent strength is a factor in their high cost.

The S&W 625 Mountain Gun .45 Long Colt comes as close as you will find to filling your request. I would think it would handle your handload since the same gun handles hot .44 magnums just fine.

I would look at the Charter Arms 45 ACP Pitbull with heavy bullet reloads (If reloading is an option for you).
With the loads you described, recoil in a lighter, smaller revolver would be brutal.

Another vote for the .45 Colt MG.

Light weight 45 Colt in DA shooting Tier 2 loads is tough to find. Tier 2 means hot, which means heavy. (25,000psi, Colt 25-5, Ruger, T/C)

I wound up with a heavier SA that can handle hot loads: the Ruger BH Hunter in SS. I put a Leupold on their factory ready rail and consistently get 1/2" groups at 25 yards. Using 4227, N340, Bullseye with heavy for caliber bullets. Accurate out to 100+ yards.

Sadly, your only option is the Ruger Redhawk, but fortunately it's a high quality firearm that should meet your requirements perfectly.

While the frame is identical to that of the Model 29 and therefore capable of withstanding .44 Magnum-level pressure/performance, the cylinder is also the same, but since it had to be bored out for .45 Long Colt rather than .44 Magnum, the cylinder walls are thinner and therefore incapable of withstanding the same amount of pressure.
Granted that even when loaded to .44 Magnum levels .45 Long Colt generates lower pressure than .44 Magnum and therefore doesn't necessarily need cylinder walls to be as thick, but most ammo manufacturers who produce .45 Long Colt +P loads label them as "Ruger only" for a reason.
