What is your favorite firearm brand other than S&W
Listed in the poll what came to the top of my head.
Here is my rationale for including
Ithaca/Remington/Winchester -- my favorites
Colt -- of course
Parler/Fox/L.C. Smith -- for those who like vintage SXS's
Ruger -- many popular guns over the years
Savage -- many great guns over the years
Wilson Combat -- has a devoted following in the 1911 platform

I can't limit it to just one other brand. I'd have to say my favorites would include certain CZ and Berettas in .380 and 9mm followed by Ruger and Browning rimfire semi auto target pistols. My warm and fuzzy feelings for Smith and Wesson have always been strictly about their revolvers.

Well, I will have to say Colt. I have about twice as many S&Ws as I do Colts, but I have many more of these two than any other single brand. I also have Walthers, CZs, Winchesters, Berrettas, Glocks, Remingtons, and many others, but Smith is first, and Colt second!!
Best Regards, Les

When it comes to other handguns, Berettas. When it comes to rifles it’s Winchester!
Rugers are in the top of the list as well!

Is this a popularity contest? S&W holds first place with 17. Browning is in second with 9. Ruger and Savage are tied for third place with 8 each. That puts Colt in fifth place with 4. And so on, and so on! (To be honest I can't remember how many Iver Johnson's, H&R's and other top breaks I have in the "Pimp Gun" collection! But 3 or 4 of each.)
Or is it a contest of desire? The guns after S&W I would like to own the most of? There are several I don't own any of that I would love to have a room full of! H&H, and Purdy, and Baker: Oh My!
Or is it a contest of price? Besides S&W, what have you spent the most money on? Brownings! Those darn shotguns just keep calling me!!!
Ivan
ETA: I like Sig 220's also! Total Sig count is 4!
Edit again: I like Marlins also, I'm down to 4!

Sig Sauer...great out-of-the-box semi autos.
But for revolvers, nothing else measures up to S&W!

I had to go with Ruger, owning 7 of their rifles, 1 of their 1911, a couple of their 22 semi auto pistols, a Bearcat and 2 Old Army revolvers.
Remington would come in next as I have 4 of their Mohawk rifles and 2 XP100s. Almost forgot a 513 22lr

Ruger. These two revolvers get much more use than all of my other ( way too many ) revolvers put together

I sold a bunch of my S&W revolvers (though I kept some newer models) after both Kimber and Taurus came out with 6 shot, essentially, J-frame size revolvers. After shooting them and inspecting their internals my respect for their quality put them at the top of my list for revolvers. Of course, the Taurus 856 is not as polished at the Kimber K6S, but it is every bit as good a shooter and has a great D/S trigger. In terms of mid-sized revolvers, I believe a Ruger GP100, once broken in, is every bit as good as a S&W, and in some respects better. The press-fit hammer spur broke on my 686 -- the GP100 design avoids that issue entirely. The lock-up on the GP100s is super (and I have never heard of a GP100 going out of time or having a take-up problem - though that certainly is a possibility). The trigger pull, though longer than a S&W K or L frame, allows better staging (if you like that).

Well I have some/many from a bunch of other brands, sometimes more than one example. The question was favorite brand other than the S&W. That answer is easy it is Ruger..
Dollar for Dollar Ruger is hard to beat. I have had a few pistols from them since 1972, a few different rifles including a very early .44 mag carbine and a 7722. Shot guns I have fired a couple and I liked them.
As a past range officer and instructor I have fired a lot of different Rugers and for what its worth they get my seal of approval.

Easily Ruger, including rifles I have as many Rugers as S&W.
Distant 3rd would be a couple of Henry Lever action rifles.

My parents gave me a Remington Wingmaster 870 12 gauge when I was 13 years old. Been shooting them for 45 years now. I also have a few old H&R single shots including a 10 gauge. Nothing fancy about any of them but they have served me well.
