My new Magpul D60 magazine
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this topic.
I got this from Midway last week. Just came in last night before work.
I tested with it unloaded on my Tavor. The bolt locked open. The D60 fits my rifle very tight, and I am not complaining.
My Tavor SAR is a bullpup rifle, so the drum magazine is behind the grip just forward of my shoulder.
On top of that I am not very big. So believe me when I say that the extra width of the D60 magazine does not change the dynamics of how I shoulder my rifle.
The magazine was not hard to load at all. It only took me about 15 minutes to load all 60 rounds. I just followed instructions and used the loading lever. I didn't forced the ammo into it. I didn't bend any brass or bruise my thumbs. Some people actually claim they have in some reviews.
I will give y'all a range report soon.

Sorry for no pictures of it in my Tavor. I forgotten to take pictures of it before I loaded the drum magazine.

Dang, that looks like you could seriously burn up some ammo quick with that.
The only problem I see with it is the price. For the money you spent for 1 mag (60 rounds), you could get 10 regular M2 Pmags (300 rounds).

Yeah I know. But I decided to try it out.

I have a pair of them, and one of those old dual drum magazines that holds 100 (Beta C Mag). That Beta is a toy that has to be sprinkled with graphite to run okay, the MagPuls are good mags that load and shoot okay, at least I've never had any issues with my two. Understand, that's a small sample lot, right?
I also have some MagPul 40 rd mags, and a pair of Surefire 60 rd mags. They all work in multiple ARs.
I'm sorry that some of you that will read these posts hate the idea that we have those available to civilians, I already know I don't need them, I just want them...

How much weight do you think it added to your setup?

Hmm, not too sure, the D60 is heavier then two mags full of ammo, I bet, but not painfully so. That Beta C mag is another story. I suppose I should sell that off, actually.

It's not that heavy. I haven't fired it yet. But I am going to give it a work out at my next trip to the range.
I might buy another one if it works with out any problems.

Now, partner the D60 with a binary trigger and you’ve got a fairly inexpensive setup for repelling boarders and securing the man cave!

I tried that with the Fostech Echo binary trigger system, and boy, talk about epic disappointment! I think it may have worked exactly once...

I've noticed it has the "speed loader" grooves cut in it at the top like a regular mag does, can you use a speed loader and stripper clip like on regular mags?

Sadly, now that bump stocks are banned, this can’t be put to ideal use. I could imagine an AR build with a heavy barrel and maybe a gas system and these 60 round drums with bump stock. Would make a solid ersatz light machine gun for suppressive fire capes. There are even belt fed conversion available that would work too but those are expensive.

"Binary Trigger" will put it to good use for sure.
