My “kinda different” knife collection
I was going through my boxes and found these. I always planned on displaying them some how, but couldn’t ever figure out how.
My Mom gave these to me a few years before she died, and said she loved them but only bought one or two at a time. She said they were expensive. Too funny cause I have cancelled checks for them and they were $12.00-$14.00 each, (in 1987.)
They are amazing and actually are “spring” loaded, and the locking ones lock. They really lock and are hard to unlock !!!
My parents were living outside of Atlanta back then, so that’s where she was getting them from. Can anyone enlighten me with any more information?

Very interesting, indeed. Maybe not too practical, but interesting. I think they would make a gorgeous display. They would look nice in a shadow box.

Those are interesting. Are there any makers marks?

I'm pretty sure that the "EPH Blanton" on them was the maker.
The cancelled checks were made out to a "Bobby Blanton." I have a feeling "Bobby" is a female, (maybe "EPH's wife?)
Thanks

Google "eph blanton knives" and you will find quite a bit of information. The "EPH" was short for his first name, Ephraim. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky in 1900 and passed away in Ohio in 1996. He owned, along with his sons, the company of "EPH Wooden Knives, Inc." in Middletown, Ohio. The company is no longer in business.

Wow, how stupid of me. Of course Google. I just assumed they were local folk art pieces from Georgia.
Thank you
