Did Ruger make a “pinto”?
I have my eyes on a 1976 Blackhawk in .357. It’s in good shape with a blue frame and a stainless cylinder and brushed aluminum rod shroud. I can’t find where Ruger made Pinto style guns. Did they? I do not want to buy something that is not correct. The cylinder has no markings on it except for an “S” to denote stainless.
Thank you

I don't believe Ruger produced pintos..but they would sell you the parts to do your own thing. When the Redhawks first came out they were blue and I bought SS cylinder/trigger/hammer/release when they became available, and made my own pinto.

I think they may have produced a "pinto" single-six in the past.

Sounds like a revolver out of Michigan, from Mag-Na-Port. Larry Kelly used to customize Blackhawks with bright nickel cylinder. Is it Magna-ported?
If your is stainless, maybe a factory run?

No Magna porting on this one. It’s described as a “unique and collectible” Blackhawk, but if it did not come from the factory like this I am not going to be interested in it.

I can't speak to all of Ruger's catalog but they have produced a pinto in the Alaskan 44 Mag. So it is plausible they may have done so in another product line.

No Pinto's by Ruger. Your seller is either making up a story to enhance the value or he got hosed himself.

That was my concern. It's a good looking piece and its priced fairly, just like any other California Blackhawk rate, but I only want what was original.
Thank you
