CZ moves to Little Rock!
I happened to be at the state capital on business on April 23rd when Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and local economic leaders announced in a state capitol press conference that CZ-USA, would locate its North American headquarters in the Little Rock Port Authority. It was reported that the new $90 million facility will manufacture, warehouse and distribute the company’s high-end, precision firearms, while employing up to 565 workers over the next six years.
According to the press release I was handed, CZ-USA, the U.S.-based affiliate of Czech firearms manufacturer Česká zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod (CZUB), will locate the headquarters on 73 acres at the Port of Little Rock.
“We are honored to have a world-renowned brand such as CZ call Arkansas home,” said Hutchinson.
CZ is not the only firearms manufacturer to call Arkansas home, Walther has a facility in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I also recall back when Iver Johnson relocated to Arkansas for a number of years before they went out of business in the late '90's.

If I recall correctly, CZ already has a distribution center in Kansas City. Don't know if it's on the Kansas side or Missouri side.
Wonder why they don't have both their facilities in the same place. Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri are all gun-friendly states, except for St Louis County and parts of Kansas City.
Must have something to do with taxes.

And I just read in the paper this morning that CZ just took a five year option to purchase an additional 65 acres adjoining the original 73 acres.
As I also understand the ammo plant SIG established in Jacksonville has already hired more people than their original projections. They also have the land available to expand their operations.

Yep, forgot about Daisy up in Rogers, Arkansas.
Remington has a big ammo plant in Lonoke, Arkansas. Our department purchases Remington ammo through the state contract at dad-gum good price.

How about Wilson Combat and Nighthawk Custom in Berryville, plus Sig Sauer
in Jacksonville.

Seems like a lot of European firearms manufacturers are opening factories or import/distribution centers on American soil these days, which makes sense considering that the USA has one of the largest civilian markets in the world.
Whether it be to illuminate the need for the use of importers as a middleman, to bypass the restrictions of the infamous Gun Control Act of 1986, to escape the native restrictions of exporting firearms, or all of the above, I think that it's a great move by firearms manufacturers which will greatly benefit the US economy, assuming that the majority of the workforce is/will be domestic.

Hope they redesign safety on bolt guns to fire forward and back for safe.

My recent CZ 455 rifle is marked "Kansas City, KS". Sounds like the State of Arkansas offered some significant incentives to lure CZ there.

Very nice! I suspect that will be a serious competitor.
My newly acquired CZ455 American is outfitted with a Williams receiver sight and fiber-optic front sight bead. More appropriate for a sporting rifle than your high-grade aperture sights. Personally, I find good iron sights perfect for a .22 sporter, preferable to a scope for me.
