Tyler Grip Co service?
I ordered a brushed aluminum grip adapter from Tyler for a square butt N-frame over six weeks ago, they cashed my check a month ago, and have yet to receive my adapter. Their website states 3-4 week deliver time that is subject to change but I’ve e-mailed, called and left voicemail, and even sent a text message (website states one can text) to follow up on my order and I haven’t heard a thing from them.
Is this common for Tyler? Hoping they at least show up at some point...

Not out of the ordinary. It is a part-time company now and the original owner/operator is no longer with us, I believe.
I have ordered and if I hit them at the right time they get to me quick and if I don't I have to wait.
I believe well worth the wait but if this thread goes as normal there should be several along to chime in about their service, etc....
They tend to no return messages, etc.....
You can also check out BK Grips. The owner there is a member on the forum and I have read good things about the product. I think they are polymer based but everyone says they look nice and are great functioning.

Thanks. I’m thinking next time I’ll likely go with BK.

A common complaint with this company. A search of this forum will show a lot of complaints about communications and wait times.
That said, they seem to always eventually deliver, and there seem to be few product QC complaints. If you want a real, metal T Grip, they are the only game in town, as far as I know.

I ordered a T Grip for a baby chiefs awhile back and received it. I cannot remember if I received within the time frame that was stated on their web site but I am pleased with the product and would order from them again.

I mailed an order on 3/22. I have emailed and called in the last week and have gotten no responses. The wait continues.

They take forever but are worth the wait.
When I order from them I place the order then FORGET ABOUT IT because it's pointless to count days, or even weeks.
Their product is timeless and top quality though.

Definitely reassuring. I’m sure I’ll be very happy with it once it arrives.

With Tyler the key is patience . . . . and more patience. When more patience rans out, give another month or two.
You'll be happy with the end result. The real McCoy.

You'll get your adapter..................sometime. Lack of communication is part of Tyler's business model.
I understand wanting a "genuine Tyler" but just learn to be patient.
If you want it fast(3-4 days) BK's are the shizzle

took 9 weeks to get one for my 1917. I would like to get one for a 1905 but I'll get a used one before I wait that long again.

BK grip adapters work well and shipping is fast. I can’t compare to Tylers since I do t have any but I have quite a few from BK.

I also had to wait 9+ weeks for a Tyler adapter for a Ruger Security Six. A phone message placed about 1-1/2 weeks prior to that went unanswered. I've dealt with BK as well and the turnaround time was MUCH faster.

A great product will eventually lose out to poor customer service. I buy Tylers when I see them, but if I’m going to order something its going to be a BK. I like the two tabs, and I don’t care they aren’t metal.

About 25 years ago I actually talked to a gentleman at Tyler, he was a LEO, I believe after the death of the original owner, he after a long legal process became the new owner.
Nice guy and if I needed another grip, they will always get my business. Like the material and quality.

As I get older, I try to be in less of a hurry. As has been said several times in this thread, they are slow to ship but always do. As long as you understand that going in, it's an excellent product and worth the wait. If you "need it now" you probably should shop elsewhere.

Thank you for the replies gentlemen. In the future I’ll likely try BK and keep my eyes open for Tyler adapters on eBay and/or the forum.

I had a call from Tyler that I missed earlier this afternoon and they left a voice mail saying that they had shipped about 200 back-orders last week. He wasn't sure if mine was in that group but he could check if I call back. I'll give it a couple of days and call back if I haven't seen it toward the end of the week.

I got the same phone call this afternoon. Mine wasn’t in the 200 that shipped out last week but was assured that mine is in the next batch.

I also have had a long wait with no returned phone calls. I also get a message that their web domain has expired. I hope I did not get burned.

You can wait if you want. I got tired of the missed production promises and asked for my money back, which they did quickly. I then ordered a BK and got it in a week.
The BK is a good product, and they actually fulfill their promises. I don't really care about "tradition" or "classic styling" when I can't get the product.

I noticed the web domain being expired too. I finally went and spent the $6.15 at the post office to trace the money order as I never have been able to find out for sure if they even had my order.

If you look on eBay you may find some Tyler T Grips listed by Robertson Trading Post. They charge dearly, but they have whatever they're listing in stock and they ship fast.

I wish I could just get my money back. I think I have been burned. Over 2 weeks worth of emails and voicemails with no response. The only thing they did fast was cash my check.

I ordered one from them off eBay a couple of weeks ago. $42 shipped. Received it in less than a week. Genuine Tyler.
I have ordered from Tyler in the past. A couple of months is average.

Tyler is very sporadic. Their product is all metal and is very good. BK is very fast and will give a tighter fit due to it's two clamp feature and is made of some sort of polymer. I have them all including one old Pachmayr, which I like the feel of best. If I order any more I will go to BK. Their product is very good and at my age of 78 I cannot afford the long Tyler wait times.
