Default I need Hi Power help

I had to get a replacement barrel for my '87 Hi Power Mk II. It's a factory new barrel, but I don't know what factory made it; it came from Numrich.

It appears identical in every way to an OEM barrel, but the feed ramp won't move past the frame crossbar. I think it's supposed to "jump" over it, but it won't. The recoil spring is on right-side up, so it's not that. I can't get the slide to move the final 1/4" back to the takedown notch.

Any ideas?

How does it compare to the old barrel? That should give you a clue. A few measurements with a caliper should tell you all you need to know.

Sounds like its time to invest in some decent calipers. They are not all that expensive and come in VERY handy from time to time. It is completely possible that the barrel is not a " OEM factory" barrel but is in fact an aftermarket reproduction. Some of these are good quality. Some not so much.

A lot of barrels are made with "some fitting required".

Put up some more pics.
Can you assemble it with your 'old' barrel?
Are you saying that the diagonal 'hook' cut out won't just drop in place over the cross member?
I am not familiar with the FEG or the Regent barrel/frame setup, but it should at least be similar if it isn't identical. It is possible your replacement barrel is one that fits one of those.

High powers ( with the exception of early P35 thru Nazi occupation) have a two piece barrel. I don't see the "joint", which would be located just forward of the lugs. And even if an early OEM barrel, it would have a "humped" feed ramp. So not likely an OEM or FN barrel .
