Winchester (Miroku) 1866 Yellow Boy Short Rifle
I took my Winchester (Miroku) 1866 Yellow Boy short rifle in .45 Colt out today. The quality of this gun is gorgeous. The one target is at 25 yards, and the silhouette target, well, that's out at 125 yards. This is with Winchester 250 grain lead round nose rounds. This is only the second time I've ever used this gun, but I love to shoot it, a lot of fun.

I have a Uberti 1866 rifle that I used in Cowboy Action. I had no idea Winchester was putting their name on one. Nice carbine.

My dad was left a Navy Arms .38 special Yellow Boy by a dear friend. This lever gun was like an extension of my dad. If you pointed out a target, he could hit it (within 100 yards or so). When my dad died, I inherited it. Haven't shot it yet; just waiting for a special day.

Mine is the steel frame 1873 in 44 Special by Ubirti. Smooth slick action, It is my companion rifle for the N0 3 Russians. The whole ensemble just makes me look more "Ivanish!"

If it doesn't start with a 4, it's not really a gun. It's a toy with delusions of grander!

Thanks for the post and a truly beautiful gun there! My dream is a 1873 short rifle from Uberti or Miroku in 44/40 or .357. Great to see new production ones in westerns these day and more period correct.
