I've got a DAO in .40 coming in. Looking forward to a concealable,
accurate pistol...anyone know how tough/$$$ it is, to convert to
DA/SA?

At long last I've found the P239 in .357Sig.

It was advertised but nobody jumped- for $400 shipped. Comes with the .40 barrel, two mags, and the box.

The tracking should start moving tomorrow. When it gets to the FFL I'll finally get to see it in person. At least I have leather for the gun and mag.

UPDATE on mine: I went to the FFL yesterday for some visitation with the P239. It looks better than I was expecting. The pics the seller sent me made it look like the gun had a lot of wear thru the finish on the high-spots, around the take-down lever and other protruding controls, as well as the muzzle. Those all turned out to be artifacts from the lighting- this gun looks almost new.

Now I'm even happier! Not happy about WA's 10-day wait though. Just more work for the FFL, which may be the intent.

Awesome. Good that it worked out better than expected. You will love the 357 sig and don't listen to the naysayers talk about ammo costs. I shoot DoubleTap in mine mostly, 115gr Barnes.

with two mags. I knew it had a blackened stainless slide like the larger
229 and had a feel of solid quality to me. So for $350 I won the bidding
and brought it home. My first ever Sig. I haven't shot it yet but it it
doesn't seem to have been fired much so I think it will probably be a
keeper. It's too big for a pocket but compact enough for CC in a belt
holster.
Sigs are interesting. I have 2 P226's, an old West German and a newer one (gifted to my son).

Yes, the WG has a "sheet metal" slide, it's cosmetically challenged, pitted in places and with a ****** home cold-blue job. It rattles if I shake it.
The newer one has the solid stainless slide with a Nitron finish, it is super tight, and sure looks nice.
Both have night sights, faded but does give me a good 3 dot picture.

I gifted the newer one to my son because he likes it, and ultimately I still prefer the older one. I can shoot that one as well as any gun I have, and it doesn't give me any trouble at all.

I also have a CZ99, a near-clone of the P226 and a contemporary of the older one, and the Sig, despite being in rougher condition, is a far better shooter. The trigger is sublime, and the balance is perfect for me.

Thanks!

Now I need to find some new night-sights as the stockers are dim.

Not sure if I want to go with the SigLites or the Trijicons, but I like the Trijicons. Also need to find someone to install them- not wanting to tap on the tritium sights.
