Don't know for sure but from the way she's gripping the 1911 and her stance I'd say yes.

Her grip is a bit low, something I would be correcting because the pistol will like flip to the limits of her control with one hand. Then there is that one eyed squint, need to start them young shooting with both eyes wide open because that can be a tough habit to break.

Good heavens that brigs back a lot of memories!
I raised two daughters and no sons.
Got them started shooting at an early age. 7 or 8 with a 22 semi auto handgun.
Worked them up through guns until they were shooting my 1911 by the time they were 12.
A lot of fond memories with them. Both girls are in their 30’s now but both are still active shooters and the youngest is an avid hunter.

I've known a few young ladies that could outshoot myself and most other men i know, an old buddies sister took more squirrels every year than both of us together.
On a side note..... that girl has some big hands.

My daughter can handle a 1911 quite nicely and on any given day I couldn’t be sure of outshooting her. Conversely, when I was a young fellow I had a girlfriend who was a real terror with a Model 41 (she had no previous experience with handguns) but she was pretty much helpless with anything that kicked more.
The young lady in the picture definitely needs a little coaching, and glasses and muffs, but still a fun picture.

I heard that all my life but I couldn't do it. When I was in my late 40s I read about people that don't have a master eye and have to shut one eye. I'm not a master shooter but I've won a few trophies and killed a bunch of game and tin cans with one eye closed. Larry

Try shooting clays with a shotgun. On straight away shots it's pretty common to have to hold a bit over the bird to hit it. With only one eye that means that the bird is covered by the barrel when you pull the trigger. With both eyes open that secondary eye is offset from the barrel center line and thru good old "adaption" our brains can use that secondary eye to fill in the blank area our dominant eye cant see.
As for it being a difficult habit to break, I know that as an absolute fact. Because I used to be a squinter when I was just shooting handguns and rifles. When I decided I wanted to learn how to shoot the shotgun sports I found out quickly that squinting just doesn't work. Took me a good 3 months of weekly practice to condition myself to shoot with both eyes and once I started to "get it" my trap scores went from the mid teens to the low 20's. BTW, still haven't shot a 25 but I'll get there. This year I added skeet to my shooting and so far I've managed to shoot 19 twice, which isn't too bad at all for a newbie. I'll also warn anyone reading this that once you start hitting those wee little disks it can be addictive. Started doing clays may 2018 and since then I've picked up six 12 gage shotguns.

With my one eye shut using an O/U I have run 100 in skeet with a 12 ga. and .28 ga. I also have a few SXS trophies. Keep shooting and you will get there. Larry

@ParadiseRoad, many of your pictures have featured your grandmothers, is this one of your grand nieces?

Scooter123, just so you will know, “skeets” are properly shot ONLY with the .410 bore. (28s allowed in the dead of winter.)
Good luck with your shotgunning.

I once taught a slight built 16 year old girl to shoot my 1911 .45. She did much better than her 18 year old brother (who told me that he knew EVERYTHING about shooting ).

Girls are much easier to teach to learn to shoot well. Almost zero of the posturing and know all aboutism that (teenaged at least), boys bring to the lessons.
Explain everything carefully and the 'why' if asked (no, 'because I said so'), and, if possible, start with a .22 and work up with the recoil factor. I love my SM ACE with the extra .45acp top end for this. Once familiar with the operation, function, grip and sight picture, then deal with the recoil of the .45acp.
What NOT to do: My home health care nurse (She's a shooter), related to me. Her Mom asked her Dad to teach her to shoot as she's alone most of the day. Ok, good. Trip to the range, shooting .38 wadcutters in a .357. All good until her Dad, for a yuk, slips a full house .357 in with the wadcutters. IDK if he got his yuk, but the range trip ended right there, along with further lessons and Mom's desire to be able to defend herself. The nurse recently got a MP22 compact and is going to try to get a Mother/Daughter range trip arranged.
Hope that works out. No invite for Dad for this trip.
Rob

...my mother in law bought herself a Ruger Super Blackhawk and shot 44 Specials through it...
...she ran out of 44 Specials one day and I lent her a Magnum round...
...I inherited that Super Blackhawk with only one Magnum round ever shot through it...
