Need help with NAA .22mag revolver
My Dad picked up a North American Arms .22mag revolver. Problem is it came in a box of parts with most missing. I got all the parts he needs and shipped them to him in Arizona. Now he can not figure out how or where the bolt spring goes. That would be #3 in the parts breakdown if you have one. Can someone here post a picture of the gun that shows where this spring is supposed to be? I don't have one and my explanation is not getting across to him.
Thanks for your help.

I would recommend you go the NAA website and then either ask Sandy in an email, or go on their forum and ask him there. There are nice folks over on that NAA forum.

It slides up into the small hole in the back end of the bolt.
Hopfully this is a schematic of the pistol and shows the assembly OK.

Dad finally saw the little hole in the end of the bolt and figured it out. :-) Thanks guys for the help. Sandy sent me a link to that drawing too. I'll save it in case I need it again in the future.

Hope your dad has as much fun shooting his as I do with mine. It is such a raucous little character.

I think he lost it to Mom. ;-) She fell in love with it, saying its cute. Dad don't know it but she asked me to find pearl grips for it.

Love mine, too, especially with the add'l .22LR cylinder it came with. This is the first time on this forum I've seen this gun in print with no mention of the "horrendous, ear-splitting muzzle blast." Please... Happy holidays to all!

If your father was able to reassemble your NAA, I tip my hat to him. Back when I was doing some gunsmithing, I had two NAAs brought to me in pieces. One went back together fairly easily. The second one was a bugger bear to reassemble. After bending beyond repair two springs, I wound up sending it back to the factory.

If you don't have the 22LR cylinder, carrying Dynapoint Magnums takes out a lot of the "horrendous" part! Or, the new Winchester Subsonic load mimics the 22LR blast

Appreciate the suggestion. .22LR cylinder is for range use only. A lot more .22Mag loads than there used to be. Still prefer the original 40gr CCI loads.

Mom finally sent me a picture of the little revolver. Dad swears he will never try assembling another one from scratch. Report is it shots good but a little hard to handle due to its size. He had to work the hammer spring so Mom can cock it.

The technique I use with my magnum Wasp short barrel is to let the little revolver rotate in my hand when I shoot it. Really takes the sting out of it.

I had a Pug in .22 mag that I traded in on a rifle I had to have. Miss the Pug now, and while it had a bark, it wasn't unpleasant to shoot. I enjoyed having it as a pocket backup, and just might have to find me another one.

I love my WASP .22 mag. I have the optional .22 lr cylinder, but it never gets used. I have the holster grip, and it is a different gun. Much better handling.
