I carry either a Lightning or Titan otf. Both are on the cheap end of the scale, but they work everytime with minimal maintenance. I use them every day and not just to cut string or open letters. I am a diesel mechanic andalways need something that I can operate quickly one handed. Whether cutting anchor ties or plastic mudflaps, these have never let me down over the years. And If I ever lose one it's not going to break my heart any. They may not remain pretty after years of abuse but I didn't get them to look pretty anyway.

Spyderco Delica.
Not nostalgic. Not pretty. Not impressive. But super fast and easy to use, compact, ergonomically excellent, small, light, does a great job and cuts great.

Buck 345 in my right hand pocket, sharpened at 19 degrees. Buck 501 in my left hand pocket, sharpened at 17 degrees. Sometimes I substitute an ancient fishing knife with a built in hook extractor for the Buck 501, other days an ancient "Mil Spec" electrician's knife with a screwdriver. All made in America. I work in an office and rarely need any of them.

Yea I just noticed that and deleted my post. Heck, the Cold Steel Talwar listed for $530 before they discontinued it 10 years or so ago. I paid $150 new discontinued at the LGS. At that price it was a had-to-have.

Every once in a while the subject of what kind of pocket knife arises and the brand preferred and just how many blades do we like on a knife. I am old school when it comes to pocket knives. I tried carrying single blade folders such as Benchmade Mini Griptillian, Gerber, and Kershaw and just could not warm up to the single blade folder that clips in either pocket. I have never been without a Stockman 3 blade knife in my pocket, regardless of the brand, in the last 65 years and longer. I still have a large collection of pocket knives as I collected for many years and have sold and gave away many knives through the years. In my pocket is a Case XX Redbone, 3 blade stockman, 3-5/8" closed length, with a California Clip main blade from '82 and sometimes I switch, but not as often as I used to. My carry knife is always a 3 blade stockman.
