I guess I'll play.

20" 1:8 fluted home build, Geissele trigger, Nikon 1-4x.

20" pencil Faxon barrel 1:8, another home build inspired by the Shootrite Katana circa 2011, another Geissele trigger, Mepro M21.

Adams Arms SF308 piston gun, professionally Cerakoted in Noveske Bazooka Green, POF trigger, Hi-Lux 1-4x.

(FYI I normally store my guns with the hammer down, hence the bottom rifle being on FIRE)

I've only ever owned M&P 15's! I've had three of them over the past five years. I'm not a big AR fan but I have a fourth one enroute to my FFL now. I think it is just about the right time to fill that corner of my safe again for the incoming politics of our country. I do like the 15-22, I have a Sig 522 but would like to add a 15-22 at one point!

The first AR that I ever bought was a Colt SP-1 from the 'Bill Goodman Gun & Knife Show' at the Detroit Light Guard Armory, many, many moons ago. Wish I still had it. I've had at least 10 other AR's over the years, mostly Colt, but a couple of Bushmasters, too.

My current stable;

Daniel Defense M4 Carbine (with way too many upgrades to list). Suffice it to say I have close to $4,500.00 wrapped up in it.

BCM 300 Blackout

Remington R-15 VTR Predator

M&P 15-22 (lots of upgrades to this, too!)

GOAT Guns.....

This is the only one I have a pic of. PSA Freedom upper, Spike's lower. Pretty solid gun 100% reliable and is more accurate than me. Joe

I have a fondness for carry handle rifles, here's some of my pawn shop finds from the last two years.

Most recently, an Armalite 20" barrel A2 Service Rifle, steel shot at 100 yards from the prone position:

A 20" barrel A1 upper (G. I.Surplus) on an Anderson lower, again the steel rabbit shot at 100 yards from the prone position:

A 16" lightweight barrel carbine with A1 upper, Safeside Tactical Lower, no forward assist. This one weighs 6.5 pounds:

All of these have been values, only the lightweight carbine cost me more than $550, carbine was like $650. Lots of values out there in AR-15's today....

Guitar case was $10 at the pawn shop, holds an electric guitar or a 16" carbine, your choice according to the gig....

So here are two, both SBRs. Both are original Bushmaster from Maine, not the fake Bushmaster produced today.

Both recently returned from ADCO. One had the horrible 5.5 pinned and tacked flash hider removed and an A1 flash suppressor installed. The other was a 14.5 heavy barrel with a Phantom pinned and tacked. It was cut down to 12.5 and threaded. A2 flash suppressor attached.

I will have to sort through to find pictures of others.

Default Very High Standard

Circa early 2000 High Standard 5.56NATO/223. No M203 Band,
Bull Barrel. Heavy Rifle. Very Reliable, and Accurate.
Same parts and pieces as the S&W at the time.
Probably my least favorite Firearm, but hey, everyone at least
needs one AR, just in case. Ammo will be easy to find.

Cleaning Hint: Best tool for scaping carbon off bolt tail; the
brass piece take off the Military Ammo Stripper Clip. It Brass
so it won't scratch.

I have a few:

A Colt R6450 (9mm carbine) and a 8.3" AR-9 pistol;

Another 16" 9mm carbine;

A Colt SP101 and a Colt M16A1 on an NDS lower;

My 1-8 twist service match rifle, and my 20" bull barrel varmint AR:

A 5.6 pound lightweight carbine;

An XM177E2 semi-clone (it has a 12.5" heavy under the handguard barrel for greater accuracy);

My Colt 6920LE with Magpul stuff. This was my first AR because I was ignorant on ARs and thought It might hold some of it's value. Since then I have got a S&W basic and a DPMS. They were pre election maybes. I'm still pretty AR ignorant, but as Will Rogers said "everyone's ignorant, only on different subjects."

I got this in 2012 or 2013, just don't recall which and I failed to write down the information when I acquired it. It's a Rock River LAR-15 and I won it in a raffle via the Texas State Rifle Association. I'm a life member.

This rifle has an absolutely fantastic trigger (from the factory) on it, and I don't ever intend to change a thing! It's perfect! One of these days, I hope to actually get around to shooting it.

Here's the Rock River surrounded by my two M&P 15-22's.

Those are all nice examples. Biggest regret I have is selling an older style(not certain of which particular model) Colt I bought back in the early 80s. We currently have two.

A Colt for me and a Ruger for the better half.

I made another AR this summer, a .45ACP suppressor host. Never could find a LRBHO upper so went with what was available.

Not allowed an “AR15” in New Jersey, banned by name. But we are allowed many other semi-auto rifles with a removable magazine and a pistol grip if they do not have any other evil features

Regardless of the name, my iteration:

[post-Ban and New Jersey Legal]
XM15-E2S receiver
ARFX-E fixed stock (with 1" recoil pad to provide nose clearance)
JP trigger
Hogue grip
Left hand friendly ambidextrous safety
MaTech rear back-up sight
BSA TRS-25 red dot optic
YHM front sight
16.5" 1:9 twist H Bar barrel
Target crown

At least for now, inverted flower pots are not on the list of banned evil features

This is my "Zombie Fighter", I picked it up at a gunshow a couple years ago. It came with a complete 22LR conversion, with two 25 round 22LR mags.
The guy even gave me a dozen 223 mags, they are rough, but, they all work..

The price,, ? Well, I was in a LGS yesterday, that LGS had a price tag on his 20 round boxes of 223 ammo,,
I paid less for this AR with the 22LR conversion, and all the mags, than the LGS was asking for ten boxes of 223 ammo.
The gun cost less than the LGS was asking for 200 rounds of FMJ ammo,,,
The gun runs the 22LR perfectly, never a jam or misfire in a couple bricks of bulk ammo,,

A screw flew out of my rear sight, Magpul said they would send me one,,,! WOOT!

I bought this gun, because I wanted to see if I liked an optic on an AR,, but, I never put one on it,,

Any recommendations of what the correct optic would be, in keeping with the "theme" of this particular AR??

You can now buy virtually the same gun (without the silencer) as a pistol,
without going through the "stamp" business,, for about twice what the stamp cost,,

Well, that was the price a year ago,, before the increases,,

The stock will look a little different,,

I sold this Bushmaster to a friend - he had borrowed it and loved it and had put an expensive scope on it and was too lazy to remove it so I relented and let him buy it from me - I had had all of the interesting furniture added and some custom, small items that you can't see like a bolt release you could hit through the trigger guard, a charging handle assist to make it easier to rack, flip up sights (you can see those), but, okay.....and he's a really good friend, former Recon Marine, two tours in Iraq, 1 in Afghanistan, thus explaining his fondness for this weapon:

I used that money to buy this STAG Arms AR in standard configuration - actually a much better rifle methinks:

Plus, thanks to Clint Smith's "two is one, one is none" philosophy, I already had a second Bushmaster that came with a red dot optic, and it shoots great!

I have not shot the STAG yet. And I'm going to leave it as is, totally standard, military peep sights (which I happen to like), carrying handle, etc., because I am having an AR pistol built, based on a Palmetto Arms lower, and it will get a "MIL-SPEC Mepro M21 Self-Illuminated Reflex Sight" once it is completed. Pictures thereafter of course.

Now, we can close the thread.
Extremely nice. That Sig pistol grip is the sexiest thing on the market today too, all I can say is "WOW!"
Now that's a home defense set-up!
.300 BO Pistol suppressed using sub-sonic ammo will be my next AR set-up.

This is a trade SW MP 15 Magpul edition. 5.56. Not a bad shooter. Leupold FireDot 1.25-4 optic.

Here's my Spikes U/L with a BA barrel in .223 Wylde, Geissele SSA_E trigger. Leupold scope and sports a clip on FLIR Thermal for coyotes and pigs at night.

The Spike's again wearing camo and minus the FLIR.

LWRC SIX8 Razorback ll Gas operated Vortex Razor 6 MOA Red dot, Geissele SSA-E trigger, Mission First stock. There is really no need to add anything more to this top of the line rifle. LWRC has it all. Once you shoot gas you will never go back!

Here is my Smith & Wesson M&P15 Viking Tactical LE. It has Geissele trigger that a really love. The one thing that so often is a down fall of many Ads are crummy triggers.
