Ruger LCP .22!
Yes guys, you heard right! Ruger just released their LCPII in .22LR and it’s got a 10 shot magazine!
It has a new feature called “lite-rack” which supposedly makes it super easy to rack. Would be ideal for those with arthritis.
Seems like it would make a great trapper’s pistol or kit gun and maybe an option for those with health problems.
Thanks!
-Jay

Some .22lr semi autos tend to jam and be picky about what ammo you can feed 'em. So how would you say this little beauty stacks up? Have you tried a few different brands and types, ie led bullets, hollow point etc
Btw Ruger also has a new .22lr revolver out. It's a six shot single action cowboy style. The Wrangler I'm a thinkin' Hickok 45 gave it a go and he gave it a good report. Looks like a good little plinker for the price. about 225 to 250 bucks

Their SR-22 was a decent little pistol. Trigger wasnt great but the three I have shot all were reliable with a lot of ammo variety.

Wow, I actually might want one of these. Is it offered in the original LCP configuration as well? I could see using this as both a trainer, as well as a backup to the ordinary .380 LCP.
If they ever offer one in the original configuration chambered in .22WMR, then I'll be all over that.

Here's a review from TFB. Not real favorable unfortunately.

Don't take it too seriously, Hop is makes intentionally sarcastic reviews in which he exaggerates as a sort of parody to some of the more critical YouTube firearms reviewers.
Seriously, just watch any of his reviews on TFB or his channel, this is just what he does.
As for reliability, well...it's a .22LR which was converted from a .380 ACP design, complete with a locking breach, short recoil action, (most .22 pistol are straight blowback) so I'm not surprised to hear that it isn't super reliable. The original LCP didn't run perfectly at launch either, nor did the LCP II.
Besides, I'm pretty sure that this is intended more as a trainer for the LCP II in .380 ACP. I don't know for sure if it's the same, but my LCP 10th Anniversary Edition has sharp recoil which makes training with it extremely unpleasant.

Why do people still whine about Rugers having magazine safeties? It's the ultimate waste of time and effort.

A small 22 with fixed sights? I'll pass.
Firecrackers are way cheaper.

Reminds me of that tiny Walther P22. I couldn't sell it with good conscience; called it a loss and gave it away.

I am glad to see Ruger expanding into an underserved market segment. I have a Walther TPH and a Beretta 21A – both are nice but way overpriced given their utility. Also somewhat reminiscent of the long gone 2213 and 2214 – although it looks like it will be smaller and probably a lot lighter. Sign me up for one, after they have worked out the new issue bugs …
