Xfuzz I really like your '70s EDC. I got an M&P from a member here and it could have been an EDC in the late 1940's!

•Shipped: 11/20/1947•

My Dad became a Police Officer in March of 1938 retired in July of 1976 at the age of 60 as a Captain ..... all those years he had but 3 guns... a 1939
6" .357 Colt New Service with King Sights and action job, a 1946 4" M&P and a 1950s Colt Detective Special. Never understood why he never "upgraded".... to a 27 or 4"19 or 2 1/2" 66.

. Got him a S&W 640 in the late 80s, when he was 73 or 74, which he asked for after seeing mine.

Today I finally understand..... as I look at the guns I actually carry that date from 1986 (3"65),1988 (Beretta 92 Compact),1990/91 (6906/3913),1993 (915/6915) and a 1995 Performance Center Shorty 9...... I guess like my Dad I learned that; new is newer, not necessarily better.

Oh ya he also had a pocket knife like Dryheat's!!!

Depends WHERE I am carrying:

1. Out in the woods, it is a 6 1/2" OM Blackhawk in 41 mag with a Randall Bird & Trout=both with elk handles/grips, EPS River belt and Bianchi 1L.

2. Further north, it is a Reeder El Diablo in 454 with a Randall Model 23 Gamemaster, black buffalo grips on both....OR....

OM Blackhawk in 45 Colt with a Yukon Skinner, both dressed in Moose antler. Both of the above in EPS John Wayne Rigs.

3. Going to the market, etc.: Glock 43 9mm with a CRKT tanto with serrated blade. IWG or pocket carry.

4. Out and about: Glock 27 converted to .357 Sig, extended mag and a larger CRKT tanto; IWB.

Yep....lettered my Dad's.... shipped...... Aug 1946

Dad's was a bit "saddle worn" after 30 years of duty carry... when he retired..... so I got it reblued for him around 1980. Action is butter smooth.
