Default I Have No Clue

The ammo I have used and like. I know nothing about the pistol. Can y’all answer his question. First one of these e-mails I ever got from Midway.

I believe this type of ammunition in this style gun (originally designed for black powder, no topstrap) would be highly inadvisable. Perhaps the Midway USA customer should ask the question of Uberti.

From the Uberti manual for that firearm.

I am going with "no", but have no scientific data to back my opinion.

They’re transferring support duty to random customers? Nice...

This has become common with online retailers, allowing customers to ask other customers questions. As for +P in an Uberti 1851? Oh heck no!

No ... don't use +P loads in this type revolver , the Buffalo Bore ammo shown is +P ... + Pressure , higher pressure than regular ammo .they are not rated for +P , the open top frame is not the strongest design... actually it's the weakest design . Use only standard velocity at most and I would highly recommend using only 148 grain Hollow Base Target Wadcutter ammo .
It will give excellent accuracy without excessive wear.

Again ..DO NOT use any +P ammo in any open top design , including the Uberti 1851 conversion . Just say NO !
