Marlin Model 1889 .32-20 WCF
Got my Marlin 1889 .32-20 WCF today. Looks good and in nice condition for having been made around 1893 or so. No pics yet.

My PD had a couple of old Marlin lever guns, a .32-20 and a .38-40, in the gun locker.

I bet your department liberated them from moonshiners. I understand the .32-20 was a favorite of our local “small-batch distillers” in the Ozark mountains back in the day. I bet the same was true with your mountain folk.
Bill and Tom, beautiful rifles.

My PD was outside of Birmingham AL . I did see quite a number of .32-20s down in Alabama and bought a few of them.

When I joined the Elyria PD in '72, we had Marlin 336's in 30-30 Win. for our sniper rifles . Also had some M1 Carbines too.
We modernized and finally got Remington 700's in .243 Win. with heavy barrels and scopes to replace the Marlins.
I used to take my assigned Remington out to shoot Woodchucks .
