Ordered A Gun Just because It Looks Like Fun
I ordered a Heritage Rough Rider Rancher today. I have only ordered one other gun before, and rarely buy new, but this one looked like too much fun to wait. I should have it in my hands in a week or so.

That is my understanding as well. They have been out everywhere I have checked. On a whim I called a place not too far away their supplier had one in stock.

Don't forget about cylinder flash if you have an arm reaching out for a foregrip!
Have fun!

Neat! It reminds me of the Colt SAA Buntline Special used by Judge Mortimer in For A Few Dollars More.
Congratulations. Buying a firearm just because you want it is all the reason any free man needs.

Very cool, Uberti offers a similar product they call a revolver carbine, chambered in .45 Colt. But I think I like this heritage better because of the adjustable sights.
I also like the buntline specials.

Wear a long sleeve shirt, preferably cotton or leather. They have a shield in front of the cylinder but "stuff" gets by. An old friend had one but seldom shot it. It was a cool gun. He and the gun are now gone I'm afraid.

The buttstock reminds me of a Winchester 9422. Definitely watch where the support hand goes (best around the grip frame, and not near the cylinder gap...)

The spokesman for Heritage said they designed it so the Winchester 9422 would fit to give owners the option to change stocks if they wanted to. The ones I have seen in the reviews look like they have nice looking stocks on them. For a all steel gun with a walnut stock at the price they are going for I think they will sell them as fast as they can make them. I have had one of their single action 22's for years, and no telling how many rounds shot it still shoots as good as the first day I got it. Anyone that looks down their noses at the Heritage line has never owned one, no they ain't a Colt, or Ruger, but at the price hard to go wrong.

I think it’s really awesome. Should make a gr8 bunny thumper or squirrel buster or rat blaster or tin can whipster.

Picked up the Heritage Rancher Carbine today a few observations first the frame, and the trigger guard are made out of the same material all of their rimfire revolvers are which is a Aluminum alloy. The barrel, sights, cylinder hammer, and trigger are steel as one would expect. The Walnut stock is a nice piece of wood straight grain, but what can you expect at the price it is nicely fitted with decent machine checkering. The rear sight is a buckhorn style dovetail mounted front is a brass bead style also dovetail mounted. Sling swivels are Uncle Mikes sling is Hunter. All in all a decent looking gun.As soon as the weather dries up I will give a range report.

Yes! I got a XDM 10mm. I needed it like a hole in the head, but it's cool. Good enough reason.

merl67 ,
Your new "fun gun" is chambered for 22LR ?
I wonder if center fire models might be in the works ?
A 38/357 would be on my Christmas wish list .
Good looking little rascal ... it sure looks like fun !
Looking for range (fun) reports ,
Gary

I knew I was getting that wrong, but I kept remembering a scene in which somebody told Manco that people called Mortimer; "the Judge".

I've loved the look of those for a while now- just never pulled the trigger on one.
When I was in the AF flying we carried snubby Model 15s when we were overseas. I had a box of silvertip HPs I bought as ..uh.. spares. So after I retired I still had the whole box of 20. What to do.... I picked up a Taurus 85 to put them in! (never could find a Model 15 snubby for a reasonable price) We buy guns for weird reasons sometimes...

I've never shot one of those revolving carbines! You'll have to share your range experience!

I had ordered one of these the same time you did, It came in today. I was inspecting it and it had no rear frame screws. Good QC at Heritage.
