I had just taken a few guns to the range to function check and sight them in.
The classic trio of American match pistols: S&W 41, High Standard "The Victor", Colt Match Target. While the S&W 41 and Colt "ate" Aguila Standard Velocity, The Victor did not chamber them ( like my Hammerli 208) and did well with CCI Standard.
Clockwise: Weihrauch HW9, FN International Medalist, Manurhin PP in .22 l.r., FN 10/1971 in .32 ACP, and a Manurhin PP Sport.
The biggest surprise for me was the FN 10/1971, after all the 1910/22s that were disappointing, this one shoots really well! The HW 9 is a sleeper and great target revolver, too.

I have fired my M41, my 627-8 and my black powder sennaca 45cal rifle at the range in the last few days. They are all fun to shoot. Maybe to-morrow I will shoot my 1966 annie. Bolt action repeater.

Took two of my Glock 19s to the range this AM along with a Ruger Mark IV Target and my Glenn Custom 1911 .38 Super. Getting to be time to re-up on my .38 Super so the RCBS is calling my name.

I had some fun with the Tokarev today ( this is a Korean War vintage Chi-Com Model 54). It always gets attention at the range with its unique muzzle flash and loud BOOM. !!

Recent range visit. I was shooting my Model 41 with a new Bushnell TRS-25 red dot that my lovely wife gave me for Christmas. I had an issue with the Weaver mount and their very short (too short) mounting screws but I have sorted that problem out and also shortened the length of the mount to fit the size of the scope. Next up is my Norinco M1911-A1 lower with a Marvel Precision Unit#2 .22 Conversion Unit upper. I generally shoot this one pretty good but I was having issues with the GSG magazine feeding so I guess I need to sort that out. Last up was the Norinco .45ACP top end on the lower. This one shoots very well.

Yesterday was spent with my High Wall in 38-55.Today was spent shooting my Winchester model 64(30-30)and my Sharps in 45-70.
I'll cheat a bit and tell you that tomorrow will see me at the range with my Dan Wesson .44 Mag,that is if I'm still living. At my age,you never know!
Oh I almost forgot;all these are shot with my own brewed, cast bullet rounds.

I went to the range to test and sight in a few guns. The FN Medalist International had misfired a few times at the last visit. So I cleaned the firing pin channel and the gun performed as flawless as I expect from it.
Then I shot a Manurhin PP since it is so long that I had taken a PP in .32ACP to the range.
Alright, that is when I switched to serious guns.
A Sphinx AT2000 S, SIG P210-4 and a Nowlin 1911 in 9mm. All where shooting well enough and I did not get hammer bitten by the P210-4 but regretted that I had not removed the magazine safety; the trigger was noticeably worse than on the P210 without it.
The trigger on the Sphinx is light years ahead of the CZ 75 SP-01 that I have in my safe!

BHP and R51. Not quite the opposite ends of the 9mm spectrum, but close.

Time well spent
I sighted some rimfire guns in and then went shooting with the Walther PP to burn a few boxes with double taps.
The High Standard Space gun was a very pleasant surprise! It shoots really well. As also during the last range visits, I had some shots of the Aguila Standard not go off the first time in the S&W M17-5, Walther PP, PP Sport, and High Standard but besides that, the ammo is shooting really well.

I got out my 617 and fired a few hundred rounds with no troubles at all. It was a mix of Federal BYOB, Remington Golden Bullets, CCI Blazer and SV.
This gun has a nice action and a new Apex Tactical Mass Drive Hammer that lets me get the action down below 7 pounds and it's still reliable.

Thursday, I put 20 rounds thru the 642 in my avatar and 25 thru my 4013 to stay in practice then helped my buddy by letting him use my 22 suppressor on his new Taurus 17 rd semi auto. We burned thru 3 50 rd boxes of 22. My crystal ball sees a 22 suppressor in his future.

By necessity
I'm sorry to say, the breeze only. At 88+ years, I've lost my ability to shoot anything else. I'm not complaining, just commenting. I have enjoyed shooting from around age 6, after earning $6.00 to buy my first firearm, a .22 youth rifle, that was missing it's sights. I also earned the 25¢, a box for ammo, that I bought at the hardware myself. I also replaced the sights myself.
I sure miss shooting my firearms! All of you folks do it, all that you can, while you are able!

Well, as this is under "Other brands", this morning I did shoot my Gold Cup .45 ACP. I also shot two rounds of skeet with my 20 gauge Belgian Browning Auto 5.
As for Smiths, along with the Gold Cup I had the 17-6 and the new (to me) 27-2 8 3/8ths nickel.
All in all a pretty good day!!

Got both of these .40's out to the range yesterday for a shakedown of recent drop in conversions of both to 9mm. No problems with either.

Well, I shot my C*** Match Target (Second Series) after having the recoil spring replaced. It did well.
I fired my M12 SB with non-+P ammo, ascertaining that iff I gripped the gun very firmly, recoil was within acceptable limits. Accuracy was acceptable.
I fired my 4.25" 25-2 RB at 25 yards, both at steel and at paper, and learned that I was still in the ballpark, but needed a bit of practice.
More .22 practice to follow.

I sighted in a new to me .22 l.r. Korth, FN 150, S&W 15-3 and MR73. I enjoyed the S&W 15-3 with my reloads and a 158 gr LRN the most and shot it at 25 yards to finish the box of ammo. I changed the service grips to Hogues after the range trip because I think I can get a better and more consistent hold on the gun with them.

Went back to the range today with a variety. I have been working on the TZ75 off and on for a couple years. Latest work was a bit of shaving on the sear cage to fit standard CZ75 magazines. I was able to get them to fit but I need more rounds through it to double check reliability. Still a very accurate handgun.
The Turkish SARB6P was a pleasant surprise. Exceedingly accurate, as my first 5 shots at 7yds went into one ragged hole. The group opened up a bit when I started shooting faster but was still very good. I was afraid the corners on the upper frame where the rail assemblies needed a bit more meat were going to gouge me but they were just fine. I still plan to round them off, if for no other reason than aesthetics.
My Walther PPS M2 continues to impress me with reliability and accuracy. Four inch groups at 15yds with this small plastic fantastic are becoming the norm if I take my time and aim. 3 inch at 7yds rapid fire is pretty normal too. Have yet to have a glitch with any ammo I have fed it so far. Definitely a carry piece.
The little Ruger LCP II .22 is a extremely accurate little pistol but the strikes on the primer rim look very light to me. I will dig into it a bit and then send a email to Ruger to see if they plan to do anything about this. Pretty reliable with the recommended CCI Minimags.
My 10-7 continues to produce the love. If I do my part, at 7yds DA only the groups are 2 to 3 inches. SA at 15yds are the same, once again if I do my part. Not bad for a snub.
Hopefully in a couple weeks I will have another report to post.

Today I just sighted a Star F Target in, it was easy enough since the gun grouped well and worked reliably. Done with that, I then did some more serious shooting with three 9 millimeters. I had not shot my old P.08 for almost two years and at the last range session, the P210-4 had the magazine safety still installed and I took it off this morning. I had just shot the Nowlin among several other guns the last time and felt that I did not spend enough time with it.
I shot the Luger with WWB and after five rounds at ten yards to check POI, I moved the target to 25 yards. The results reminded me why I had chosen this gun to participate in club matches. The P210-4 has the original hammer spur and the bites were getting more painful with each shot, which showed in the results, the P210-4 came in with the worst results of the trio but easily kept the shots on the plate.
Then I finally came to the Nowlin and shot it with the inexpensive Geco white box 124 grain ammo made in Hungary. The long slide version really "eats up" the recoil and the gun did not move out during recoil. Operating the slide stop or the safety was unbelievably smooth!!! The trigger is amazing and even through it did not yield substantially better groups than my trusty old P.08, the Nowlin was much more fun to shoot and recoil recovery a whole lot faster. It seemed to not have more recoil than a .22 and was very forgiving when I shot it faster. It landed the rounds in the center of the 9" paper plates without effort. I then got the plate in to 5 yards and double tapped it for a couple of mags and really fell in love with this gun.
I think I have a new favorite gun.

I went down to our 24 hour range last Sunday night at round 10 pm and popped off a couple hundred rounds at paper from my Marlin 60 rifle and my S&W 34 revolver. Very therapeutic.

Model 1950 Target (pre-26, 45acp). One of my favorites. Surrounded by a sea of plastic, it really stood out.

Took my new Sig P365 XL out for the second time. Really like this little gun. I have been shooting it at SD distances only up until yesterday when I started to shoot it at 30-50 yards. I GOT SOME PRACTICE TO DO!!!
Also manage to take the new to me Superposed 20 out and shoot some barn ducks and ECD’s (Euarasian Collared Doves) as with my other 20 SP, it was fantastic. Choked a bit lighter but the 28” barrels were a bit different than the 26” on my I first one. All in all it was a good shoot for both guns. Sorry no pics. The Sig is as ugly as any other striker fired wonder plastic handgun and I have not taken one single pic of the newer SP yet.
