Very nice looking modern Python - and it's easy to tell that the owner is well read!

I like it, but hopefully someone, or Colt will put real walnut or any real wood other than plywood grips on it.

That's why there are people like John Culina around. He also makes stocks for the Colt Python besides all his S&W revolver stocks. And you can't argue that John makes some beautiful wood for revolvers.

The writer lost me with: the Colt Python was known as "the finest production revolver ever made“. I can’t get real excited about the engraving on that gun either. Now, RKmesa’s engraved .357 Mags or Doc44’s engraved .44 Mags - those I can get real excited about!

"...the Python is tastefully scroll-engraved for a true one-of-a-kind look — even replicating the famous Rampant Colt pony emblem on the frame..."
Isn't 'the famous Rampant Colt pony emblem on the frame' roll die imprinted at the factory?
Or am I just reading that wrong taking the statement to mean the engraver cut it in there when doing the engraving..
Probably just me being confused as usual.
Is the Colt Custom Shop/Engraving kaput again,,usually the first engraved of any new addition(s) comes out of there and with much fanfare and glitz to the gun.
But they've had their problems over the years.
They had some great engravers come through there in the past.

Last I heard, John Pease was engraving for the Colt Factory. But that looks nothing like his work...
