Just bought my first Glock a few weeks ago-brand new G17 Gen 4. Last week I happened upon a LNIB G22 Gen 4. Now looking for a G21 Gen 4 to round out the trio. They at least shoot as well as any of my S&W M&P's. I used some Christmas cash to buy both, the G21 will be on my own dime.
Never thought I'd own a Glock, but you just never know...LOL :-)

I own a Glock 23, 3rd Gen that I hate to shoot because my small hands and the blocky, thick grip don't work together. It came cheap with a spare 357 Sig barrel and I added a 40 to 9mm conversion barrel and a 22 conversion kit that also came cheap. I got it to use when I work with agencies that carried Glocks usually as a trainer.

I also own a Glock 43 9mm that I shoot fairly well because the grip does work with my hands. I'd ditch the 23 but the mags work with my AR-9.

I don't like the Glock safety system. A rookie with a Glock is, to me, a scary sight unless I know he's got a very heavy trigger, then it's like a revolver.

I'll concede they are reliable for an auto but I don't trust any auto enough to leave my J frame back up at home. Guess, I've seen too much.....

Although it’s fun to rib Glocks, I do appreciate them for their utility and reliability. I’ve owned several, but still have 2. Great guns! I’d never own another brand plastic gun.
I also like having the versatility of using mags of 10-33 rounds in my G26 and 9mm AR

Don't own one, but have a SD9VE. Have shot a glock 45acp, but it did nothing for me. The SD9 was bought to fill a need, and fit the budget.

I have a few. And I shoot them well. I read at one time they are the klashinikov of
pistols. I believe that. Mine started life as 40's and have 9mm barrels. They run
like striped a**ed apes.

After saying that, they are souless plastic ghouls. The Shields are
the same way and I've got some of them too.

I currently own one Glock, a G32 in 357Sig. My local cop shop had 357Sig ball ammo for $200/1,000 rounds. They would also sell me a blue label Glock for $398, so I bought the pistol and ammo. It shoots really nice, maybe not as nice as the P229 I used to own, but much nicer than I expected. I think Iíll hang on to this one. At some point I think I might get the long slide .40 Glock and a 357 conversion barrel.

At various times in the past I also owned a Glock 19 and a Glock 43. They got sold off to fund various revolver purchases.

I don't own one, but I do respect them. I have a friend who has several (he's been a Glock guy for years now), and I shoot them all well. I have yet to see one malfunction, and they are all reasonably accurate.

The problem is, is that whenever I have enough cash to buy something new, something made of steel is usually just a little more appealing.

One, a Glock 43 single stack. It shoots okay and is easy to take down and reassemble. That being stated, any future purchases will be S&W revolvers.

I have owned a 19 since Feb 1996, and a 23 since 1999, with thousands of rounds through each I have never had a malfunction. A Glock is a tool, like a claw hammer
.

No anti-Glock sentiment here, and no disdain for polymer either. When my department transitioned to semi-autos in the mid 80ís, Glocks just werenít on my radar. I own and shoot S&W revolvers for enjoyment, but I recognize the size, weight and capacity advantages of a semi-auto for real-world applications. Mine just happen to be Sigs.

Glocks are the opiate of the shooting sport masses. They're what the Soviets would have designed if they stuck around a few more years. Bland, mass-produced, monotonous widgets.

I don't think walnut and blued guns have a "soul", they're just guns. I happen to think a G22 or G23 are among the best combat handgun available.

No Glocks but I have two M&Ps. They are good for carry but have no character.

My last purchase was a Sig P220. No Glock can touch it IMHO.

I won't put down a Glock but they just don't melt my butter.

A don't own a Glock. I have seen, handled and shot them. Don't like 'em. Feel terrible in my hand, the trigger sucks and they're butt ugly. I never will own one.
Not a big fan of plastic all together. I own exactly one plastic framed gun and it serves a very specific purpose. BTW: it has a hammer.
My best friend was a Glock-o-phile. But even the best of us has our faults, so I finally forgave him.

I have a glock 19. Havenít shot it in a long time. Iím certain it still works. Itís hidden in my living room along with a 33 round mag. Itís sole purpose is high capacity self defense in a hurry just in case. Itís ugly. I donít carry it. Donít hate it though. It works. Itís reliable. Itís accurate. Not my cup of tea. But it works. I like my m&p better. But I like the high capacity magazines. That said. A 38 or 357 is always within reach.

I own four at the present time. Three 9mms, 19, 26 and a 43 and a 42
.380. Mine aren't for sale and I'm not really looking for any more right
now but I would love to see a 42 size .22 LR. Maybe someday

I own several Glock pistols and although other pistols are prettier, have better ergonomics, and have more bells and whistles, I find the Glock to be one of the best combat pistols made. I carried one for several years until I retired from law enforcement. Glocks are a simple design, reliable, easy to work on, and replacement parts are readily available if needed.

In a way, if you own ANY polymer framed, striker-fired semi-auto...it is essentially a Glock. IMO most of what is available on the market is a direct copy of the Glock...with minor cosmetic and mechanical variations purposely added in to make it less obvious. I always laugh whenever a manufacturer comes out with a "new" pistol...as it usually looks Glockoid. The latest copy is the IWI Masada

I'm a function over form kinda person and I carried a Glock as my issued duty weapon for 23 years. While I respect them as reliable, durable and sufficiently accurate I didn't "mate" with them solely because they didn't fit my hand well. I always wished Glock would come out with a single stack .40. I received my G23 upon retirement and it went into the safe, emerging about once a year for a trip to the range.

Then about a month ago I bought a Glock 48. With the exception of the cartridge this is the Glock I had been hoping for and I'm well pleased with it.

It won't replace my Shield as my EDC but it will be used.

Glock confuses me. They've long advertised "Glock Perfection" but they keep coming out with improved models. By definition, perfection cannot be improved so Glocks are not and never have been perfect.

This has helped me realize I'm a bit of a hypocrite.
In conversations with other gun guys, like many here, I'll profess to loathe poly-pistols.
We've all heard the analogies - I compare my used, LE-trade G19 to my Estwing hammer. A great tool that reliably does all it's designed for and does it well. There's almost zero pride of ownership, but you can count on it working.

Then, realized that there's a few other poly-pistols I own and have stellar results with.....
Summer pocket carry 98% of the time is a Kahr PM9 I bought in the late 90's when it was about the only 'tiny 9' on the market. Still works great for that.

Wife owns and shoots two polys - a KelTec P3AT .380 occasionally and a S&W M&P 9mm Compact. Both have been extremely reliable.

I attended a S&W Armorer's Course some years back and was handed a voucher to get any M&P auto for the sum of $200. I didn't really want one all that much, but gosh - $200. Yeah, I checked the block for a M&P midsize .45 with thumb safety (per my M1911 proclivities). It's been a great gun and the one I use for occasional security contracting work.

So, guess I need to reign in any overt poly bashing, since it's obvious there really is a place for them. Heirlooms? No, but good no-nonsense tools.

One. A G42 that I bought for my rather insistent daughter. Out of all the semiautos I own, it is the most picky and least reliable.

Displays all of the bad behavior that folks mention with .380's.

I will not be buying another.

I've never owned a Glock and until recently hadn't even shot one. I believe they are reliable, quality firearms, but they just don't feel good in my hands and don't point naturally for me. I'll stick to my M&Ps, CZs, etc., but understand why not everyone feels that way.

I own 1(gen2 G23) would have more but S&W semiautos are cheaper for equal quality.

I've never owned a Glock. I'm very familiar with them; I attended their armorers course twice over the years and have fired probably thousands of rounds thru a variety of models but I never caught the bug. Glocks are good, basic tools but I'm not a fan of the platform.

I take it you don't know very much about the design specs of the Glock, nor many of the other polymer framed, striker-fied, semiautomatic pistols on the market today. Because honestly, to say that they're all Glock clones is such a gross oversimplification that you might as well be saying that all steel framed, hammer-fired, semiautomatic pistols on the market today are just clones of the 1911.

Carried a Sig P229 for years, and before that a 1911 of some variant. When I bought my Camaro the Sig was a bit big for the console. My GF had a Ruger P90 that was too big for her so I traded for two compact Glocks a 9mm for her and a 40cal for me.
I could not shoot mine well to save my life and she has problems with her wrists and could not shoot hers without it jamming.
I traded hers for a S&W 642 and just sold mine outright and went back to my Sig. I ended up sticking a bobbed Model 60 in the console.

I have several Glock models, all 9mm.
My 1st was a brand new G19 Gen2. Still runs like a champ.
I also have a Gen4 G19 & G26 and a new G48 (G19 Slim )

My Wife also has a Gen4 G26 as her CC pistol.

I'm one of the few folks whose hands fit well with the finger grooves. While I dislike Glocks for the most part (preferring 1911's and revolvers), I have to say I've owned probably ten different models from .380-.45 and most of them have been utterly reliable. My early G42 choked occasionally and spit brass in my face. My G41 would choke occasionally. However every other model I've had has been on point. I currently own a G19 only and it's honestly a jack of all trades pistol. I bought it for $350, it's a gen 3, the finish has held up very well as I'm not real careful with it but it just serves as my travel/truck companion really well and I carry it. I just can't beat the reliability, durability, weight, capacity and price for the purpose it serves. It's ugly yeah but no one sees it but me and I've got prettier guns to look at while it's strapped to my belt. I do like the Sig X Compact better, ergonomics are perfect on that pistol but I can't find it for the cheap price I did my gen 3 that came with love and I don't feel bad about abuse and use.

I own an early Glock 36 45acp. Not pretty, but reliable and shoots whatever I put in it. Can't say that for my bright stainless Colt Officer's model, even after it went through the colt custom shop

I own at least one Glock, and have for decades.

I also own a boat, and I'm a terrible boatsman.

No, and I don't keep venomous snakes at home, either.
I think both are inherently unsafe, by design.

LoL no need to get snippy. Just research the patent infringement cases Glock has had over the years. Regarding your idea that all steel framed, hammer-fired, semiautomatic pistols on the market today are just clones of the 1911...I never really thought that much about it. I wouldn't say they're so much copies of the 1911...but likely they are improvements on it. That's the difference. IMO no one has really improved upon the Glock design...they've only capitalized on it's superior performance and global popularity. This happens elsewhere...copying technology. I mean the Russians swear their Tu-160 isn't a copy of the B1...and the ChiComs say their J-20 isn't a copy of the F22 but a completely new and original design of their own.

Never owned one, but did shoot one. Didn't care for it and I don't like the way they look. Too boxy and clunky looking for me.
I like the traditional handguns.

Friends don't let friends buy glocks.

My issue with them is the way they try to bully police agencies into carrying their product. It was my experience, when overseeing purchasing for my agency, that if an agency did not buy their product they filed some type of complaint/grievance/appeal and held up purchases.

Price is not everything.

Seems like a pretty good analogy. Also, you can detail strip a Glock with a nail and a rock if necessary.

Talking

I bought a Glock 17 in the late 1980s when I was just getting back into guns. The darn thing threw empty, hot brass into my face and down my shirt. My wife also didn't like hot brass down her shirt. I traded it off and learned the problem was common with early models.

Many years later I acquired a Glock 34 and a 35. The 35 was so inaccurate I bought a new Jarvis barrel for it. I use these guns mainly to do test firing. I won't cry if I blow up a Glock.....it might improve their looks.

Is an MP9 considered a Glock Clone. If not,I'm gonna have to change my answer to the poll.

This one wears a red lasermax guide rod. You will think this pistol has soul when youíre laser painted red.

I carry either a G43 or Gen 4 19.

Are they pretty? Compared to what? A beautiful Blued S&W revolver or a High Point?

They are an engineering marvel. They simply work.

I trust my life to one everyday.
