Default Help with old Rast and Gasser revolver

Need some expert "antique revolver" advice. This old Rast and Gasser 1898 revolver is for sale locally. It has all matching SNs, feels solid, and the seller tells me it shoots "just fine", but hasn't been fired in years. This is the only photo I have. I am tempted to purchase it, but the owner simply wants an offer ( I'm thinking $450.00) and on-line prices are all over the place.. Any comments, advice, etc. will be greatly appreciated

I'm pretty sure, ( but not 100% without diving into the books downstairs) that that model of pistol is originally a blackpowder cartridge revolver. I would be VERY cautious until I knew for sure that it was OK for modern ammo.

Now, if you just want to hang it on the wall, go for it.

Thanks for the warning. I don't think I'll pay $400 for a paper weight.

Here's Ian's take on it. He says it was originally for smokeless powder and current Fiocchi ammo is fine for it.
