Which bayonet would be "period correct" for a late 70's Colt SP-1?

Pretty sure it would be the M7.

Pretty sure murphydog is correct. That matches my understanding that generally speaking, will the M7 bayonet fit an M16 with a 20-inch barrel, bayonet lug front sight and birdcage flash-hider..... will fit some others as well depending on the parts used.

M7 Bayonet
The M7 Bayonet would be correct. There were a few makers including Colt. Mine is made by Ontario Knife

Not period correct, but I prefer my Marine Corps bayonet, the OKC-3S.
