Which grips do you like best on this SAA
Nothing better to do today than take some photos of my SAA in a Heiser #753 holster and #49 belt. The question is which set of grips do you personally like the best with this rig? Number 1 is Zebra wood. Two is Sambar stag. Three is ivory. Four is original eagle grips and five is Sambar stag 2. Just something to do. Bill

It took me a minute to realize there was a gun with grips in the photos. After concentrating I think the Ivory goes best with such a fine Heiser rig.

#3 "makes" the package. #1 and #4 don't look good on the gun. #4 would be acceptable, but #2 would be better.

Ivory, but I think SAAs in general look best with ivory (well, except silver ones...I like dark grips for those).
I'll probably catch some flak for this, but generally speaking I'm not a fan of stag grips, except possibly on 1911s.

Sambar #1. It was a toss up between them and ivory, but I prefer one piece for that.

..With the leather rig..
The Ivory.
Other than that, just the gun alone, the Eagle grips.
Not a fan of Stag grips at all.
Zebra wood is a (19)70's thing and should've been left there with a lot of other stuff.
But that's just my opinion of course and worth just that!
Nice Rig!!

You could take an old beat up Taurus revolver with a couple of pieces of 2 x 4 screwed on for handles and that rig would make it look good.

Since many of you like the Heiser rig let me show a few pics of the complete rig. It is a double buscadero rig and the top of the line and most expensive rig in there catalogue. The bad thing is I only have one 71/2” SAA. Bill

MHO? #1. While I like their looks, I found the stock grips too small for my hand, (which isn't all that big). Have an old set of Herrett over sized grips on my 7&1/2" SAA. Much better balance and they don't look half bad.

# 3. I bought a cheaper pair on E-Bay and although they look nice, they don't fit very good at all. I had to do so sanding on them because they were larger than the pistol frame and too thick for my hand. I got the to fit OK, but they won't get tight enough not shift around. As I tighened them the resin started to bend in around the screw.
Anyone know of a better fitting pair?
