Cool Pretty guns - let's window shop!

I got this idea from another thread. It's not a pretty day here. So I am going to select some of my guns that I think are most attractive - not for function, etc. Just aesthetics. Doing this for fun.

I will start with a S&W but then I'll meander....

M25-5

Charles Daly SAA

Two old Ruger Vaqueros

Some Ruger .22s

There are some others that I think are particularly good looking. I need to get pictures. Let's see some more!

I think all my guns look nice, but this one is probably the most photogenic.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've heard so many people say that the model 28-2 is not a pretty gun. I personally think they are gorgeous. That's why I have three. And I don't plan on stopping at just 3.

I think Dave Keith could start a one-man museum of custom firearms.

In all the gun pictures I have looked at in my time on this forum, I think this one—from post 7 above, Mr. RgNewell—is the first I have ever seen with golden screws.

Amazingly, I just gave this 10 star thread it’s first 5 star rating! Threads like this are why I am approaching a million likes!

Hmm. I'm not sure which of mine is most aesthetically pleasing. I expect that's sort of in the eye of the beholder. I sort of stopped buying guns that I didn't find pleasing to the eye, in addition to other reasons for buying the gun some time back, so I have a few that probably belong in this thread. Edit: hmm, that ended up being a lot. Oh well.

One here that we have always thought is attractive with the brass frame.

Henry in .357 Magnum, it was an online gift to us, her mainly. LOL A very nice rifle in a great pistol caliber that is very fun and handy.

I have mostly S&W shooters (with internal beauty), the closest thing that I have to a safe queen is a shiny Remington R-1 1911.

I like 19s. I have others that might be prettier, but this is my best group shot.

This recent acquisition is considerably out of my normal collecting area, but my love for the HP platform made me click the mouse. The chain of provenance was apparently broken before the person from whom I purchased it acquired it. I wish I knew who the engraver was, but, alas, I do not.

When I was younger I never really cared for engraved guns. After seeing the photos in this thread (and others), I think I may be changing my mind.

Brother Dave that is one spectacular BHP! Watched it go and very glad someone here on the Forum got it.
If you have not done so already you might go to the Firearms Engraver forum and seek help with IDing the artist.

Those Vaqueros I posted are slightly engraved, you just can't see it. Those were my cowboy action pistols (might be again, someday) and I recollect without looking at them that I had them engraved with my initials, SASS alias, SASS number, and maybe some fancy work. I'll have to dig them out. I always liked engraved guns but even as works of art I think they should be shooters!

A good friend of mine is having a mid-life crisis .............

$10,000 Rolex and engraved carry guns........ Model 60 and I think he found a 66.

Like ContinentalOP's..... they are growing on me as I grow older.........like Kieth44spl's 3 1/2" N-frame above...... but make mine a 3" 19 please ............. it screams "The Shootist"

Winchester 63 all dolled up. Engraved restocked, checkered, gold inlayed.

Win61 engraved. Right side of recv'r. Steel cut scene

I think (?) this is the same 61,,left side of above. But not sure. Steel cut also..

Savage Model 3B single shot .22 bolt (simple $100 or less 22 rifles gets a going over,,,in progress)

Receiver in progress, Scroll mostly done.
Squirrel sketched into the steel & lightly single point outline cut,,ready for engraving and detail. I leave that for after the scroll and borders are done.

Left side of the recv'r (upsidedown) in engraving vise.
Shows some engraving done and the simple basic pencil line hand sketch I do prior to cutting with the chisel then adding the details.
The 2 parallel slots are for the rear aperture site base.
(The piece of wood is just to be able to hold the recv'r securely in the vise jaws. It has a couple quickly done cut-outs in it for the recv'r to seat squarely. Leather protects to opposite jaw/side)

The completed side (right side up!) from above pic. The aperture base in place with it's engraved adj knob in place.
The base is now also appropriately engraved.

BBl work to finish. The stock got a complete reworking to a more sporter look. Needs checkering yet.
The whole project got started just because the little beat up circa 1938 rifle has a really nice piece of walnut for a stock.
I was just going to refinish the wood, but my plans never seemed to be planned out at all.
Probably worth a $150 when all done !!.
